Trestles 1969

Dragged my Harbor 9'6" over the barbed wire, ran across Camp Pendleton, the train trestle near, and out to the ocean for safety, with a nice view of Nixon's western white house. Grabbed the general's sign on the way out, 17 years old at Los Alamitos High School, first graduating class 1970.

Six years ago in 2016 I decided that I couldn't afford to keep buying dispensary cannabis and so the decision to grow was made. That was not the first time though, I quit drinking alcohol in 1987 and took 22 years off smoking cannabis. Two bad knees got me smoking again with an occasional schroom adventure in the mix, no alcohol, as I don't have an off switch.
I had a few grow failures prior to 1987, all outdoor gorilla grows: 1973 next to corn field in Iowa, but under some trees, planted in May back to California and harvest in August in Iowa, not seen all summer, survived; 1978 apartment patio, fence hopper grabbed my plants, fail; 1980 backyard in Orange CA- 7 bag-seeds, some from new interesting Skunk smelling and one sativa pictured below. I cut every sprout on that plant to smoke and ended up with a jar of flowers, little flowers.

The other 6 just didn't want to grow up, short, big fat leaves, this purple tint, squat.... oh my god I wish I those seeds, I was clueless, probably some of the first almost pure Indica, pulled them up before they flowered.

1980 backyard grow, I tossed the skunky indicas out!??

Come As You Are
Great history! I always like hearing from people willing to share their past. I have friends and family that still won't mention weed in public for fear the black helis will swoop in and get them.?‍♂️

Anyway, in regards to Iowa in 1973. A bit before my time but I came across this movie a while back, as well as a comment on Reddit about "smoking leaves" back then and it opened up a well of memories.
My uncles were the bastards rolling around in the night looking for clandestine grows so they could "pick 'em". This was a bit later around 1975-6.
I definitely remember smoking leaves and thinking I would go insane because that's what our science teacher said would happen??

enjoy it if you have the time ?

The shed was designed before I had ever grown indoors in 2016. So many mistakes, I mean learning opportunities, to start and for the following six years, 2022. Upgrades: A/C-thought I could outsmart heat in socal by growing at night, 18 hour veg??? Veg tent in my house, now just a 3x3x6!! Schroom filter's-thought pantyhose would work?? Finally after lots of bud rot, a dehumidifier. And the shed door opens to all the bugs every time I enter or exit.

Would eventually like to redo inside my garage....

Props mang, I friggin hate snakes. My daughter had a small corn snake and I didn't even wanna F with that little guy. Lol
That was a big basterd at that. Dang.
I released three last summer, I am at the end of a canyon, so there are a few critters, mice, gophers, rats, ground squirrels and bunnies that eat everything in my yard. So I am happy to have some help killing the rodents. Two small rattlers and that big girl so far this year.
