I know this is movies and videos but I've been hooked on Forged in Fire on History Channel, I think.

Basically its folks blacksmithing knives, swords and axes.

Shit has me wanting to buy/make a forge but I've got so many other hobbies I think it'll have to wait till retirement in 20 years, lol.

Anyone else watch this show?

I've only had streaming services for almost a decade now so I havent always been able to watch everything. I've caught a couple episodes of Forged in Fire though, really cool show. I know a few people with forges.... my brother in law actually made us a chefs knife for Christmas that's really dope. I'd love to take it up but like you I've come to realize I already have too many hobbies lol

The vast majority of my TV consumption is Star Trek, Archer, Venture Bros and Futurama... on repeat. Drives my family nuts.

So back to Forged in Fire. I watched every episode and gotta say the producers are idiots.

They keep adding perimeters while giving less time to do the shit. Doing Damascus metal in 2-3 hours, mosiac pins and handles in 2 hours. The knives come out looking like shit! Then slamming them into metal or rocks?!

Just give them 4 hours to forge and 3 hours for handles so we can see some kick ass knives. Im all about craftsmanship, not dramatics...

End rant, lol.

It is pretty amazing what they can come up with in a short time. Imagine getting a bowie made by those guys when they have time to do it right...

American TV really sucks...I can't fuckin stand it because all of these SHITTY actors make their politics known and I cannot see past that and it is fucking boring. It's also just the same thing over and over....nothing new or interesting.
Background***"
I am fluent in Spanish and Portuguese...Spanish because of where I have lived in my life (Palermo - Buenos Aires - Argentina) and who I married (Basque) "I do not speak or understand any of her Basque (Euskara) lingo...I think it is incomprehensible...ack ack ugh ugh errr errr...but also she speaks French and Spanish as local dialects...and Portuguese was my language I learned in the military as our theatre of operation was Latin and South America...so mostly at my house we speak either English or Spanish.
I am White as the driven snow by the bye...
I love Brazilian TV and sports...I used to play polo so I love to watch sports from SA...
The novellas are absolutely hilarious and violent...always crime oriented...as with all socialism it creates voids that black markets fill.( I love the fine art of politely insulting the shit out of someone that the women have)
I'm sure most can be found sub titled in English...which after watching Ertugral and Osman Kurulus which is in Turkish and sub titled in English...it's not so bad...still watching Kurulus as it comes out weekly in 1 to 2+ hour episodes. No I'm not Muslim but Bogdan ( producer) follows the Ottoman history very closely in these shows.(interesting) Amazing actors/actresses...Princessa Sophia a Byzantine...a rival of Osman Ghazi is my favorite...hot and angry, would slit your throat if you look at her sideways.
There is just so much more to TV then American TV.
Street Outlaws...liked it a little bit until this year...I find the format taken in the ruse of covid as bullshit and unwatchable...same as wicked tuna...unwatchable.
So here I am watching El Patron Del Mal...excellent show...a most pure Spanish language is spoken, very easy to follow.
Hope that didn't bore you, but it's how I feel about TV.
Honestly only watch about 6-8 hours tv a week...about an hour a day.
