Twenty20 Mendocino Ogreberry Chronicles

So she dried enough to press and smoke. Dabs were very underwhelming. Flowers dried to almost nothing. Yields were not very generous when pressed. The flowers were much more enjoyable smoked. Better flavor and decent high. Autos are not for me, this plant cemented that for me. I can get much better results with light depped photos.

Mine were similar, leafy open structure buds that dried out kinda light. It smells great, like blueberry muffins! The taste is not the greatest, probably because it was a bit leafy. Any shortcomings are certainly made up for by the stone. This one and the Trizkit autos are crazy potent. I'm talking droopy red eyes head-spinning forget what you're doing type of high.
Zero complaints here.

Definitely owe this thread an update/conclusion on the Ogreberry.

To recap - I unwisely started two seeds in a brutal heatwave - and they died instantly.
I then bullheadedly restarted another two - and the heat and dry air stunted the plants right off.
Lost interest in them, but didn't kill. As you can see, they're pretty toasted.
BUT all is not lost!!! There were 5 seeds that Twenty20 sent, and I dug out the final bean on Sept 3, and have been babying.
Still outdoors, and the grasshoppers and other things seem very attracted, but we're off to a much better start.

The heatwave was brutal this year @UncleB
The last one looks like it’ll be alright for you. What kind of grow bag is that and do you like it? Have a great day!

Thanks for the confirmation - yes, extended heat, w/ no humidity. (I'm beginning to learn what these guys don't like...?)

The bag Is a RainScience 5gal. I like a lot. and it's holding up well in it's 2nd season. Wouldn't go for the optional handles, though. ?

Right on. I like the sounds of those bags and skip the handles, copy that. We’ve been exceptionally dry and warm for where I’m at. Probably going to snow it’s ass off this year☹️ Good luck on the last ogreberry, curious how it finishes. I’ve never ran an auto ever.

That final Ogreberry seed is ticking along.

No training or topping, but it's branching fine.

What a difference a few less degrees and a little humidity makes!!.

Only negative I can report is that it seems like the garden pests are extremely attracted. Maybe it's that delicious? We'll see.

Yes but the experience of growing autos was worth it I'm sure? I got some auto seeds I want to run again that were awesome and that I crossed with the GDP that were/are really nice and I'm dying to run the f2's and back crosses with both parents. Another one, a cross of my Magnum auto by Frim's White Bread f1's could/should be good. I really like 'em but I've seen some of the stuff you grow so yeah, a dep reg and 3-4 month turnaround is probably better then most autos for you?

Damn!
Everything looks great!!
You have to be really happy with the results so far.
Definitely! Thanks for the compliments. They started to flower around day 35 or so in a 2 gal pot, so I think they'll get to be a decent size. The tall one (Trizkit) has no smell on the stem rub, but the Ogreberry has a pungent garlic smell. Quite unexpected, I was taken aback by it. They've only been under my weak veg lights, but it's at 20/4. I need to get some more light on them.

Given the rough conditions (low temps, sub-oar bloom lighting) they're looking pretty decent. In addition to my normal veg lights, I put a single 42w cfl over each plant, still 20/4.

Lanky one, nice stretch, but I think it's a dud, no frost, I'll stick it out to see though.

So cool to see these crosses play out!
That lanky one looked very different from the start. Hopefully the frost still shows up.
Definitely looking forward to the smoke report on down the line.

Planning on chopping my Labor Day Ogreberry tomorrow. Will try and post a pic in a bit.

Ogreberry cross update:
Wow did this thing get frosty! I did even try with this one, gave it the worst lighting conditions, super cold temps, barely any water, and it looks and smells amazing! I can't wait to try a few more of these, and actually try, lol.

Here's a few shots of the Trizkit cross:
The short phenos are nice, very similar to the OB, but the tall pheno is junk.
