Twenty20 Mendocino Ogreberry Chronicles

Got mine today. I got Amy’s choice, which I wasn’t even thinking of getting but I’m happy none the less and excited to set this off.

Gonna get them in the paper towel tonight. I too am doing it exactly like the twenty20 magazine has. Just to try it out all scientific and see what happens.

Gonna scuff them in a home made seed scuffed then gonna do the paper towel thing. Normally I just soak em till they crack then straight to the solo or I will put them straight into plugs of some sort that have been soaked in ph 6.0 water with some recharge or micro magic

I’m very excited for this summer. With these and the pigs from Frimpong I’m gonna have some serious heat. Glad I just got two new ac infinity filters ? gonna need them!

Just got home from work, and have failure to report. Both Ogreberry seedlings shriveled up into nothingness. Too much sun too soon, it seems. May have been pushing things a tad, but previous autos seedlings haven't been shy of the sun. Definitely am taking the blame, and soaking 2 more of Amy's Winner as I type. Still super hyped!

Germination report

Man are all having some shitty luck this go around? I punctured one of my seedlings while cracking/scuffing them. But I soaked all 3 in bottled water for 15hrs and they had cracked and taps were popping out (or so I thought) 8B63B735-D3EE-4A5C-B380-6FE6FDD2F7C4.jpeg
Well placed all 3 in paper towel placed in ziplock for additional 24hrs and only 2/3 had nice sized tsps coming out and the one that I punctured looked like it tried to come out but then gave up and said not today. So I pitched it. And planted the 2x that germinated into coco coir damped with water+1ml/gal superthrive +1.5ml/gal calmag + 5ml/gal Bonide root and grow ppm:450 PH:5.85 (This is the standard I do when doing my photos or veggies) I haven’t tried this with Autos before but after my mephisto being so small and my night owl seedlings turning yellow and barely growing the first two weeks I had to try something different. Worst case I’ll pop the other 3x Ogres and do it the other way. 4794E7CB-9C55-4DDC-89AE-DB59F3A27922.jpeg A568A19D-3952-4350-8AA4-DCE8761F823C.jpeg
Now to wait….

So this is becoming more and more a topic in the Autoflower world because it’s half the people say it does effect the plant then half day that’s bullshit. I’m in the bullshit side to be honest.
I'm with you. As long as you don't let them get root bound. I think recovery time would effect yield with such a short cycle. Again I have no idea what I'm talking about but it sounds good.

Kind of the beauty of our collective grow. We're about to (kind of) find out. I started out 12 yrs ago starting autos in smaller containers and up-potting, but now plant direct.....laziness is a factor to be honest ????

Here's where we are with the 2nd pair of Amy's Winner (5B) that were put to soak on Sunday, 5/22.

Both were above the soil line yesterday, but one is still hanging on to that damned helmet.
Not touching....just misting. Will cover that stubborn one with an inverted cup over night. Really don't like the odds of surgery.
