Love me some fresh strawberries, never grew them indoors though. Man 28 days between res changes sounds awesome. Do you have to manually turn the UV on? I'd have that on a timer, let it do the work while I'm doing something else lol
My aversion to hydro store timers is stronger than my aversion to using Cal-Mg so I built my own.

Right now it is just piggybacking on the flower light circuit. It will get its own but I need do some testing to figure out what it will take for maintenance first. Since I took it out of the flower res 3 days ago I gave a shot of peroxide and its clear as a bell (a bell submerged in MC).

Shit I think I remember you talking about this a while back lol, stoners...... No faith in those timers huh. I have a pile of them I go dig through when one kicks the bucket ?. A bell submerged in mc..... I'll finally be starting on the floraflex nute line next week. Supposedly pH stable and clean, I'll let you know what it's like.

Changed the resivoirs last night springtails starting to run amuck in both, worse in veg. Hit them with some spray that should also knock back the little bit of algae and mildew. Went 33 days on flower 36 on veg, still not done cause I f'd up the first 10 gallons or so with too much hypochlorite. Also should probably get the 73% non pH buffered stuff, but that doesn't help the fact I misunderstood I was only supposed to make a small amount of solution and use that to disinfect, instead I made 10 gal @ 2.8 g/gal. Ended up using that solution @ 20ml/gal for disinfecting and used the rest for cleaning tubs. :headwall: Had to short fill both resivoirs and still need a couple gallons in veg.
Went with 100ppm WCaP and 300ppm MC in veg and 200ppmWCaP and 450ppm MC (iirc gotta check notes) in flower. Considering not toasting the eggshells next time for the WCaP, it will probably take longer to make but if it facilictates Ca dissolution over P I think that would be good.

On a positive note Air Trigger #2 that wasnt rooting recieved a large dose of the concentrated hypochlorite and is now sprouting roots.

It looks like this bubble method might work out for my cloning needs.

Definitely going to start with the hypchlorite next time.

Strawberries got moved to their permanent home, now just waiting for mothers day to put them on the deck.

The coldframe has been a bust this year, I haven't been able to moderate the heat, its either over 100 or below freezing.
Time for a reload then off to dandelion patrol.

How do you like the GIANT hydroton vs the regular?

I've never came across a different size before, is this new?
Different color too?

I have no reference this was a 50L bag no size that I saw indicated they range from about 3/8 to 3/4 in in diameter. I had a partial smaller bag of growstones that I mixed in they are larger and more irregular.

IDK if they're new, I accidentally bought a bag at my hydro store the last re-up. I'm undecided. I ended up mixing half a bag in with some regular that I washed. When putting them in pots with seedlings in rooters, it was nerve wracking thinking that the big pieces would roll over and crush them. Otherwise it seemed like it drained quicker? I do like the look though, not necessarily better than the regular, just different.

I notice many of the ones that sink are the smaller ones vs. Most that float are larger. Pretty sure my bag said original.

That's the brand I use and never knew they had different sizes. I'm intrigued now, these days I use it as a bottom later in my coco pots. Really helps drainage and allows more feedings. I'm thinking the bigger ones would work better for my application.

Going to let him dry out now, cut a couple bottom branches and put them in a glass and have a couple going in the bubble cloner too that seem to be taking hold.

Forecasts call for above freezing temps for the next several days so I moved the strawberries outside.

Corn, and peas are mine, the tray of basil, cilantro, peppers, lettuce and spinach is my wife's. Kinda doubtful the asparagus is gonna make it. Bought an ancho pepper that's in quarantine and will probably pick a few other things up. There is a local nursery in town would like to see what they have, might swing by after redoing the w/d hookups at my tennants.

Coming along man. Is it still getting cold your way at night? It's been surprisingly warm at night here, 54 the other night when that rain came in. Mid 40's for the most part. Got a couple plants that need revegged and I'm thinking about putting them out in a week or so when they get chopped.

Not that warm here got below freezing a few nights ago but last night was 42, we hit 80 the end of april but got into the 20s after that. Gonna gamble and plant some stuff fri or this weekend. Good luck with the reveg, you going to suppliment with artificial light?

Seems like I've had better weather than you for a couple months, which is odd. But ya I'll have a solar powered light out there, these are some accidental chucks that my dad did with some of my cuts and seeds that he ran last year. We have some potential coming out of those lol.
