Have worn out two Danish Dough Whisks like the one pictured on the left over the past 20yrs. Been keeping an eye out for something other than the standard offering.

Finally came across an unused vintage one actually made in Denmark!
Not sure why that wire goes out of orbit, but it's working fine so far.

Went ahead and doused the wood inside the ferrel where the wire penetrates with super glue while the wood is new and can soak it up. Just attempting to fortify where things loosen up as the miles accumulate.

If im correct, that's a SCORE! Nice enameled dutch oven, no?

Also I have a trick to resurface/sharpen meat grinding disc's.
Yeah it was definitely a decent Dutch oven, but these guys got me hunting for this fancy brand now, so I left it for someone who may actually need one.

I was debating on trying to use the old grinder that I found, but decided if I’m going that route I could prolly get a newer one and keep the griswold as decoration. Idk a thing about the meat grinding game

80/20 per se for hamburger meat

80 stands for the meat content
20 for the fat content

Make some sausages!

Save all of your pork and beef trimmings and make burgers or sausages. I'll have 2lbs or so of brisket trimmings to make burgers and sausages. Little to no food waste. Unless it's my picky son who just loves to feed the damn garbage can.
Lol

Bet I've ran 6 deer thru that same Griswold grinder while my kids were still teens...Bought beef trim fat from the butcher and ground most of the deer right thru it...They work great but will wear your ass out

My folks had a wheat-grinder that looked a lot like that.

If I jerked on the handle, I could get it to 7 o'clock. At that that point, I could get under it , and push the handle nearly straight up, to noon.
Little punch would get it over the top,,, me feet may have been pretty light when I put all my weight into it; but I could yank the crank down to the bottom again.
After about three revolutions, my Pops was done his break, and it was his turn.
I am recalling the mechanics of it now.
None of my siblings could move the handle once it was on the far side of the crank. If we were on the same side as the handle, we could pull it down, but then we would have switch our orientation to keep the handle between our chest and the crank, in order to push it up.
We were convinced our dad was super human
Wrist pin, connecting rod, crank and crank and crank

We were just taking turns getting impatient with each other. One of us would get in two or 3 spins, then my dad would get in a couple hundred. Next kid is dying for their turn and the rest of us are fighting over who is after that,,,,

There are some vintage memories in this thread.

Drove over to El Paso this morning to tend to some things on behalf of my deceased father in law. He checked out last October at 98. Took advantage of the opportunity, and snapped a few pics around the house for the vintage/thrift community...?

Will get them up when I get back home, but here's "the tip":

After researching some hand crank meat grinders, I think I might just order a blade for the griswold and use it after a deep clean.

They do a complete grind with a nice looking burger .. Probably better than anything you could buy on Amazon or whatever..never seen a electric grinder do a better job... especially with sharp new blades
