Just got my lab results back the other day, haven't had time to look at them in detail but looks like phos is creeping up in the 3x3. I need to take a closer look before doing anything. Shit I may not be planting anything in there till fall anyway.

I'd think the charcoal would break down pretty quickly? I really like the wood mulch (vs. rice hulls) and have enough chipped up to last a while. Still need to work something in and that something will probably be pumice but I have half a bale of rice hulls too.
The wood charcoal would last a good bit based on research done, and for sure the activated carbon/biochar would last many many years also based on research done.
Biochar is one of the big things theyre now using for adding to the good potting mixes.
Heres an interesting research paper on it, from a reputable source, giving a good rundown on things. I'll be taking the AC and putting it in some distilled water to do a pH slurry test to see where what I have sits at. Should give me an idea what it may change the soil to as it has a liming effect it can impart.
After getting a read on where the pH is sitting I'll inoculate it with some compost/worm poop tea. Then mix up a pot with it and put a known clone in there and see what she does for me. Be a good little test imho.
I've got a bag of pumice as well like you'd mentioned i'll throw in the mix as well. Prob do some perlite too since thats an easy known solution and its cheap to grab.

He goes crazy for grass. He'll dash outside if he has the chance and he runs straight to the grass to roll in and eat it. Lol

My strawberry plants now have their patch to fill out in.
20230603_085234.jpg Going to grow them yr round indoors is the plan atm.
20230603_154221.jpg
Rearranged the tent a bit to make room.

And the dog stole my spot while I was gardening. Such a human actor. Lol

BnB ready for the gamma bucket cure.
20230603_085115.jpg
Slymer starting to take off after her up potting. Haven't topped her yet.
20230603_085258.jpg
Shes got lots of long branching going on already au natural. Really tight together too, maybe a half to three quarters inch apart on her.
20230603_085324.jpg
Rest of the veg room this am.
20230603_085252.jpg
Rearranged the veg room, had to add alot to clear out the tent for the strawberry patch tray. Trimmed back a few Mommas while I was at it. They were getting a bit wild.
20230603_154200.jpg
Flower room. The two on the left, HS and Jenny are at 8 weeks. Few more to go imho, maybe 1 for HS, two for Jenny if she can manage it. Gettin a lot of yellow on her all over. Buds are still looking good, but the rest of hers looking a bit ugly atm.

Picked a few things up yesterday at the grow store. They were out of perlite, so grabbed this stuff. Seems like it'll work pretty good for adding aeration to my soil.
20230604_152114.jpg 20230604_152150.jpg
Mixed a fair bit in, added some biochar as well to this pot. Then did the same for a 30 gal tote full of cooked soil. Soil feels alot smoother and fluffier than it was being before. Doesnt like to clump together now like it did before the additions.
20230604_151714.jpg
Added a layer of it as a mulch for the flower room plants, it'll get mixed in the soil when i chop em down in a few weeks.
20230604_144939.jpg
Flower room watermelon got dressed up too. Rabbits get my melons almost every year, so indoor melons it is. Lol
20230604_144925.jpg
All the plants love worm poo, so got a new bag of that too. Gave everyone a dose up with a top dress.
20230604_152213.jpg
When I made the biochar I mixed up a recharge microbe compost tea to soak the AC in prior to adding to the soil. Get it full of good stuff before mixing it in.
After dumping it into the soil tote I noticed it had almost spotlessly cleaned the lower half of the bucket it was in.
Good shit imho, plants should love it. ❤️

Nice being back online, see what yall have been up to and all that. Few pics of the current smoke I'm enjoying.

Black and Blueberries/ Freak Genetics
@Frimpong you did a nice one with these beans. So tasty, a lovely bouquet of sweet berry notes with incense smells.

Strawberry patch greening right up since the move to their bin. 20230608_112914.jpg
Sharing their space with a few other clones.
20230608_112948.jpg
Veg room being the veg room, about the same as the last pics. Lol 20230608_113006.jpg
Slymer staying quite short, about time to take some clone cuts from her imho. Four lowers are plenty good to go for that, have some decent length to them.
20230608_113023.jpg
Did a slurry test on the soil and it's sitting about 7.2 pH, a good half point higher than it should be. Would be an explanation of her leaf coloration atm.

Slurry test on the flower room pots show them about the same. 7.2 to 7.3 for all of them. 7.1 for the soil I added the clay pebbles aeration and AC to.

Have to see about adding some sulfur to cook into the soil over the summer. That's worked in the past for me to slowly drop the pH of my soil.
My high levels of calcium carbonate in the water makes things creep up over time is my theory. This isn't the first time this has happened. Lol

Garden update.
Sulfur added to the cooking soil totes this afternoon. Also did a top dress on the existing plants. Takes awhile to kick in so plants top dressed may be done by the time soil pH gets to dropping.
Best I can do for now, wait and see what happens.

Other news I'm home safe n sound, didn't fall off any cliffs. Lol
This was near Grand Junction, we were riding along the canyon rim For alot of both days. Awesome views.

We wandered some, but found our way pretty quick.
Found the cats name on a post in the middle of nowhere. 🤔
(We call him Thomas Bean.)

And one last pic of the canyon.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful pics of the Grand Canyon (y)
Thanks for checking em out. 👊👊👊
That was actually Grand Junction Colorado, and that's the Gunnison River.
About 4 hrs west of home, a bit longer today with the weather caused traffic.
Looks like a great time.
It was a blast. Us guys went out while the girls stayed back doing girl things. Lol
My friend Jon told me I was going too slow on his machine, so really had to go balls out and drive it like I stole it. Lol
And dang that machine is scary fast.
😱😱😱

Beautiful grow and scenery, good times ! Thanks for sharing
Very welcome, thanks for checking em out.
I've been thru grand junction! beautiful area, makes me wish I could uproot and leave the rat race behind.
It sure does to me too. The friends we were visiting have already done that. He's retired, and she works from her home office. They hardly leave the place to go into town. Thats my goal I'm headed towards some day, fingers crossed. Be out in the nature and hardly ever leave.
