Weed tea

I came across a stranger as I was smoking a fatty. He stopped and told me he smelled a skunk around the corner come to find out I was the skunk lol. We talked for a bit when he told me he makes weed tea from the stems he harvest’s. He boils it’s for hours on low then strains it an adds a bit of honey for flavor. Says he lasts hours high n sleeps like a baby. Any truth to this or has anyone tried this? Sounds like a cool experiment to run but I’ve never heard of this before. Any comments or input is appreciated. Have a blessed day.

I guess I'll go first.
There's very little psychoactive compound in any part of the plant EXCEPT the leaf and flower. The chances of achieving a high from boiled stems is little-to-none. The chances of achieving a high that lasts for hours is nonsense.
There can be health benefits to drinking a "cannabis tea" but I doubt they are any more beneficial than eating a nutritious meal. I don't have data but I'd be willing to bet eating the raw plant has greater benefit than drinking a tea.
Also, cannabis is a phytoremediator and as such has the tendency to uptake heavy metals, and while they tend to accumulate in the roots, it has been shown that they do build up in sun leaves and to a lessor extent, the sugar leaves and buds.

I'm saying 5% truth to what that gentleman is offering up. I'll accept any proven documentation to the contrary.

Pretty much anywhere else on the 'net the OP would have got a rude shitty response.

Big respect to you, Joe, for doing the place proud with a polite, logical answer refuting the bullshit that was fed to @Haroldviii .

Bonus points for the final sentence.

I willing to throw in a rude shitty response only for contrast purposes and it wouldn’t surprise you .

After that guy on RIU got 70 grams of hash from his stalks......I put the tea thing on the back burner and only make hash from them. Been a life changer, before that I was foolishly throwing the stems out.

;)

Strain and size dependent of course. I'm lucky to get 70 gms of stem off my small plants let alone enough hash to make harvesting worth while. I grow more than enough weed for myself that I needn't bother with the small details.

Rude shitty responses are my forte, it's definitely one of my lesser qualities and still needs work, but thank you. This place really helps set the tone.

I have friends that I categorically arrange from bro-science to whatever helps you cope.
The whatever helps you cope bunch veers off into the "my hair bun channels energy from the universe to my chakras" line of thought. They're also the same ones that shame people for not "organic" gardening when they themselves can't or do not garden. They're also the tea drinkers, but they make unsubstantiated and far-fetched claims on the health benefits while remaining ignorant of actual science.

People are free to believe what they want but it's important to not lose sight of the fact that in the grand scheme of things, we've rarely been 100% correct about anything since the dawn of time. More like 51% and I'm hedging in our favor.
