I started playing electric bass about 33 years ago, I've seen Victor live a number of times. Before seeing him in 1997 I had a fairly limited idea what was possible on an electric 4 string. He is a master of a fairly small number of techniques, but man he smashes those. Some of his improvisation with The Flecktones was/is truly artful but a lot of it is just shredding. Very good shredding. What I'm trying to say is..I guess he's pretty good, for a bassist. The Sinister Minister completely changed the game for me.
