What did you do today?

If you ever want to get all the latest gossip, talk to a retired man with a lawn. :ROFLMAO:

Spent time chatting with a couple of my neighbors today, both older fellas, and I now know more about my village and the surrounding area than I learned in the previous six months. I tried to keep the conversation about useful stuff and away from dirt, but still got a few peeks at the seedy underbelly, such as it is.;)

I'm trying to pick my way somewhat carefully. As someone who spent a lot of his life doing short term jobs, I'm used to burning bridges at the drop of a hat. Piss me off and I'll tell you where to go and how to get there.
Now I'm in a long term situation, so I am attempting diplomacy. Wish me luck. ; )
Good luck, It's not easy. When shit gets iffy, I let my wife deal with it. She has a filter! My background in the building trades makes it hard to accept bullshit! If all else fails, there's always brownies and gummies.

Exactly. I worked shutdowns as a tradesman for a long time and if you can't work it out on the job, you can always work it out in the parking lot; and a month from now when the job wraps up, you may never see each other again.

Now I have neighbors that will probably be here for a long time and I'm not going anywhere. I'd like to at least be exchanging friendly waves, as opposed to hate-stares, when I'm out in my yard. I don't want friends as much as I'd just prefer not to have any unnecessary enemies.

Last night as I was going into my house, after dark, an insect flew straight into my ear canal. I could not get it out without risking damage, so I drown the little bastard with baby oil. I'm not going in after it, it should work itself out in time. Never had that happen before. It will get your attention, guaranteed.

Broooooo.... ok the OCD in me is thinking about the possible infection that could happen from that.....

Ah shit now if I imagine this happening to me I'd probably freak out and grab a knife lol.

I've ran into a few folks who toke in my village, but they tend to be low key. I've learned they needn't bother. ;)

There is a village wide garage sale today, so I was strolling around. First place I stopped at was selling a bunch of ballasts and bulbs and cooling tubes and F&D tables and HPS fixtures. Next street over was a 4x4 tent on someone's lawn, fully set up with lights, fans, etc.

I bought a pair of skiis with poles, in great shape, for $5 so I can make another fishing sled. I came home to drop them off, have a hoot and head out for more. :)

My neighbors on both sides of me are 65-75. The one the first time I met him he walked into my garage as I had a jar with 2 zips of some bomb nugs and a 2 foot bong sitting on my work bench. We talked for like an hour and he left never said a thing about it. Now we talk basically every day and he is honestly the friendliest guy we actually have each other’s garage codes in case of emergency(usually when I forget to take my garbage out I’ll text him and he’ll run over and push it out to the curb lol)but he has never smoked with me but it doesn’t bother him….we went out of town a couple weeks ago and I said watch my house in case any sketchy shit happens and he says like your usual sketchiness or extra sketchy. The neighbor on the other side literally knows everything that goes on in our neighborhood and if we are smoking outside they close there windows but they’ve never said a word to me about it lol we live on snob hill according to the people at the bottom of the hill lol …sorry just rambling

Sounds awesome bro :)

Today I watched a severe thunderstorm roll through with some small pea sized hail and realized I think I made the right choice on not taking everything out of the tent and putting it outside already! I know storms are a part of the way it is for outdoor, bu I do try to make sure the plants are big enough to handle a downpour and whatnot before I take them outside.

We had some more wood set up to expand the .... "Wooden structure" that my plants grow up into, though I'm not sure what to call that thing.... Maybe a half assed trellis ? Anyway, it's going to probably get expanded a bit this year as I've got...... something like 31 or 32 plants ? Tossed out a male so far and that probably won't be the only one. I'll take a look at the numbers again once they all start showing female or male and whatnot so I know how many clones I can take.

I do try and keep my setup legal; We're allowed a certain number of plants, and then some family and I and the Wife have our medical cards, so we're allowed to have more plants because of the cards, and I do put effort into making sure we're not fucking that up as I like being able to grow my own meds (And a few family members as well) but I wanted to make sure some strains were popped!

The feminized seeds I only popped one of as I figured it'd most likely be female anyway, but the rest I did 2 seeds each, and then Blue Cheese..... Well I have 4 seedlings of that, but if last year is any indication, I'll have 2 males and 2 females, as that's exactly what happened last year.

Some stuff I've only got one of, and some of that is because I only had one seed (Gelato #33) but Hoping for a good season and, hopefully less humidity and wind haha.

My Aunt has been out of the hospital for a while now, and my Mom can't really do everything herself so I've been at my Mom's a lot ding stuff around the house, and then taking care of stuff around our way too.

Good on you brother, I took care of my dad for the last 3 years of his life. Man, it sucks ass watching someone you love fall apart, but, Taking care of family means everything. So, Kudos to you!!!

Sunday, is lazy day here. I've been watching videos of bubble bag ice hash. Have had the washer for a few years, maybe I should use it! My grows and genetics have gotten quite a bit better since I ended up here, so, all the old will be processed. I'll use all I have except for 6-8 zips of my best. I've done the mixing by hand before. that's why I purchased the machine. I've only done this with trim and fresh weed before. Is there any other steps to consider when using dried, cured bud???

Sorry Roz, but I'm no help on that quest.

-----------------------------

I planted my first ever non-cannabis garden today. Just some onions and carrots and lettuce and spuds. I'll see how much I enjoy it. If it's fun, I'll continue next year, if not I'll probably build a little backyard pond where the garden is currently.

In the afternoon I went down to the river for a while. Fishing was slow so I ended up wandering along and chatting with another fisherman. He was a tig welder from Cape Breton, out here working with my old union. We ended up shooting the shit for an hour or two, swapping stories about guys we'd both worked with and various job sites we'd shared. I really enjoyed it. I miss working with those east coast boys, so it's always great to hear a Newf or Caper accent.
