I had to laugh at myself, going from the magpie wars at home to my ongoing feud with the family of beavers at the fishing hole. I had a pissed off trio cruising around me all afternoon, slapping their tails and being irritable. ?
It couldn't have been because I disturbed their sleep by gently stepping on their half built lodge.? :dancingchicken:

I'm not fighting with all the critters, honest. It's just the just the beavers and magpies, and that's cuz they're jerks. ;)

I get along fine with the fish and the crows and the eagles and the ducks and the geese and the rabbits and the yodel dogs and all the other ones that ain't either messing with my crow buds or my fishing hole.

"I had a day of multiple beaver slaps" sounds odd for some reason lol.

You ever seen a Musky nail one of those vagina squirrels?
No muskies here, just pike, and I don't think they go after beaver.
I've had big pike latch on to 3 pound walleye I had hooked and fight me for 7 or 8 minutes before letting go but I've never seen them attack anything but fish in person. A friend of mine saw one attack a loon, which is a pretty damn big bird.

I've seen footage of them grabbing ducks, a kitten, and I've heard birds are actually good bait for them but I'm not sure myself lol. They're top predators like a Musky so not too much they won't hit. There's an attack on a young boy by a Musky in Ontario which is nuts lol.

Yeah, I've seen some crazy stuff online, which is why I specified "in person". Pike are voracious. I've only seen musky in videos so can't comment on them.

A friend of mine took a live trap full of mice out to the end of a dock and started teaching them to swim. He said one made it back to the dock but all the rest got destroyed by hungry pike.
