Just wanted to get a little consensus amongst the rest of you cannaheads!
What is your favorite things to do with your ABV? I've used it many different ways..what is your favorite?!

Whatever the top voted preparation, will be giving it a go with this little stash of ABV..

Is ground up pot called ABV now? I thought that meant Alcohol By Volume.

Just using a slightly warm oven to dry the last of the moisture out of some CBD Auto 'Hemp' bud I grew outside this summer. After passing thru my 4.0mm mesh sieve to break it up it gave me 154.4g/5.44oz of hopefully good meds once made into oil for edibles etc. Think I'll do a room temp soak in ISO and maybe clean it up a bit with a separation with naphtha but might skip that step.

Once the oil is ready I decarb that so it drives out the last of any left over solvent and keeps more terpenes.

Vaping is so efficient, and uses so little material, and the bounty of growing your own is usually so great - kind of makes it hard these days to repurpose.

Did see this minimal effort idea when searching your query @Deebs

Quick and effective fire crackers
This is by far the easiest way to make edibles with the least amount of effort. All you have to do is spread some peanut butter on a few graham crackers, sprinkle some AVB on them and sandwich them together. Wrap them up in aluminum foil and bake them in the oven around 365° F for around 10-15 minutes.

You can also try using Nutella with saltine crackers or adding some coconut oil to increase the fat content, which is essential for THC metabolization. Be aware that you can always eat more, but you can’t eat less. In other words, the experience can be very intense depending on your tolerance, so start slow and wait at least a half hour before you assess how you feel. It’s not recommended to eat more until you are familiar with the effects of your initial dose.

p.s haven't forgotten about that Da Buddha review.
Actually haven't cleaned the wand yet, so you could see how much I've truly used it.
Plenty of screen changes, though!!

And with that out of the way, now I can finally soak this mutha... ????

I've heard AVB in yogurt is a decent way to ingest.

Sadly, edibles don't affect me. I'm currently saving some AVB for the kid to try. I'll report back if any new info emerges from that.

I tend to use the dynavap a lot and it gives very close to full extraction. I don't save that, but the stuff from the Arizers tends to look more like yours and still has some use.

"Vaping is so efficient, and uses so little material, and the bounty of growing your own is usually so great - kind of makes it hard these days to repurpose."

Agreed. I vape as often and as much as I want and the jars just keep getting fuller since I've finally made the full-time switch from combustion. I don't usually feel like bothering with AVB. Even if I do keep it, just like with the hash I make, it ends up being gifted.

What i do is Add it to ur rso jars, I add that, kief, de-bucked small nugs ( ones not worthy of trimming) … key is to not have stems and sugar trim ( wasting major space) , I use the sugar trim and tumble/sift it and make dry kief . end result vs trying to make edibles or rso with sugar trim is the less chlorophyll taste and higher potency guratee .

anyways after the sugar trim is sifted i than feed it to my worms or use it as a nitrogen feeding straw for the gardens ( I mix my straw with misc things and that includes the cannabis leafs )

can’t help myself , don’t wanna waste any of the precious cannabis!

If you're tossing your sifted sugar trim you are wasting precious cannabis. I took a good look at some with a high power USB scope and could see all sorts of squashed and remaining trichs so ran an experiment on a weighed oz. I don't recall the exact numbers but the nice golden oil I got from a QWISO was almost the same weight as the dry sift and dry sift doesn't doesn't give the same weight if you extract it so I got more oil than sift from it.

I'm Scottish-Canadian so waste of any kind grinds my gears! :) Should have heard my old man if you walked out of a room and left a light on. :D

You took my wording wrongly, i said i only dry sift the unwanted extract sugar trim for kief

I dont dry sift my buds. Thing is in commerical rec/medical they will do this exp when they will make lab tested batches (make sure that sample is prime ) and than use the test and misuse/trick to sell their bud or and have their extracts too. Not me and im just a home grower whos goal is for best quality. They will even pver dry the buds to raise the concentration %

I used sugar trim but not sure what you mean by 'unwanted extract sugar trim' . Is that the bits of trim that has a tiny bit of crystal on it but not coated enough to be added to the better stuff?

when I’m trimming I will have four filters of where the after trimmed it goes to.

After plant is hung dried in dark for 14-22 days mind and under 70f whole time and darkness whole time. I will than check moisture content of the bud using a wood moisture meter . once it hits under 15% , i than de-stem it into 5 gal food grade buckets and label the date And put a bodega cell/ two way humidity control cell.

after de-stemmed and in harvest buckets. when I get to trimming it I use a trim container/“trim bin “ when trimming it will than go into follow:
1. Trimmed product
2. Stems and un sugar trim/ not worthy of dry sift/hash extraction
3. sugar trim aka any leaf that has worthy extraction
4. untrimmable/not worth it buds ( labeled and used for rosin/rso/edibles)

I use a trim bin for hand trimming with a head mountable led illuminated magnifier (1x-3x) and this makes it so I can physically lift the leafs and examine what quality goes into what bin . doing this method Makes it so I don’t over abuse my buds, I also always make my buds before trimmed on a stem so I never touch the buds even when trimming and I can twirl the bud while holding it and make it perfect no matter how hard the bud is to do . than when done I cut off the bud into “1” and any stems or small nugs or w/e get put accordly. Everything I do is kept under 60f form dry-cure and in 100% light for whole process. i also make sure I’m drying at min 14-21 days and having the buds on the stem gurateed a longer drying time as well.

before when I trimmed for others they woild throw the whole trimmed batches that wasn’t the flower into one tout and also k noitced some major flaws in enviroment they dried, way they processed but also storage. it’s if not the most flawed part of cannabis and this is why wine to cigars, it’s a art and even if u have best cannabis it takes a flaw or bad mindset or greed to destroy a very vulnerable product exp terps

Please don’t take my long wording explanation that I’m “ pushing it down ur throat” in no way or trying to argue with ya, it’s just when things explained in text based and not explaining stuff fully def makes so many things If explained half ass can result in false wording or reasons why people get bad results .

——
Tout with stems and leafs = stems/unwanted extract (no trich on those leafs)

That is almost step-by-step my procedure for trimming but no trim bin. I pull out the wide drawer on my desk, level it with magazines etc then lay a sheet of parchment paper on top. That gives me 32"x14" work surface. Cardboard box on the floor to my left for flipping fans, stems, bugs etc into for going to the compost or burning barrel. Right now I'm trimming my outdoor crop a couple branches at a time because of hand spasms and vision issues so if shit goes sideways I can call it quits without lots of stuff laying around to deal with.

Anyways. I'll snip off a cola or two then start breaking it down from the bottom up. Few dead bugs here and there to brush out as I go and also seed popping if I see them thanks to a hemp farm not far away. With this stuff I just snip off any small leaf ends that don't have sugar and put them to the side for sifting. These are crap so I don't bother doing an extract on them but will get a couple grams sift out of every oz. I'll just leave the sugar leaf on the buds unless putting some aside for toking then they get the full monty.

I have one of those extendable magnifiers but that slows me down from a stroll to a crawl so just a desk lamp right over top for lots of light. I just grab my big magnifying glass if I need to really take a closer look. I think it's 3X with a small 5X one at the bottom.

These plants got hosed off as I chopped them down then hung up in the carport for about a week then I draped clear, unscented trash bags over them to help slow the drying for a few more days then took them down to the basement to hang as I work the next month trimming them all. Low RH here as winter closes in and the basement is a steady 60F and 55%rh. I closed the bottom of the bags while the buds were still soft but all the fans and other leaves were crispy dry. Daily inspection to check for mould.

My indoor ones get harvested in stages right off the plant so I trim up the good buds for toking then put those in doubled up paper bags and dry them over 3 - 5 weeks in the basement then into cans for burping for another month. They turn a nice golden colour and smell so good. Smoke smooth as hell too.

These days it's all about meds for me. Small hits in my pipe for a quick mood change but everything else gets made into edibles like chocolates or gummies, (yet to do gummies but have everything but the cannabis oil to make them med gummies), RSO or topicals.

First I have to make it all into oil tho. :) Freezer is loaded with the last 3 years of growing and now the outdoors stuff to get ready. Too much like work but I have friends in dire need so it's gotta get done.

i have had a few diff versions but this version of a head mounted light + magnifier which on one charge u can work for hrs without a charge. What I do is have two and let the one I’m not using be charging and always guratee I can run it on high level light. Makes it so u can do precious quality control and spot any obvious bugs, mold issues and contamination. once I started doing that I couldn’t go back cause I measure my trim times and I def could be ,pre precious and get my scissors under the sticky leafs without harming anything.

I've been thinking about getting a headset like that for bug hunting. I always seem to have a few thrips around but as long as I keep the numbers way down they aren't a big deal. I've reduced the number of indoor plants so plan to do a spray run to get rid of them before I let things get bushy again. Right now I might find 1 0r 2 on each plant so they are close to being wiped out without resorting to sprays. I've beat them by hand a few times in the last 20 years so if I get in there and check really good a couple times a day they'll be gone in a week. I just use Safer's End All soap spray with 10ml/L canola or neem oil added. A 500ml bottle of concentrate costs the same as 1L of ready to spray but makes 10L. Worked for a nasty mite infestation I had a few years back too.

I want to get back into tying flies so something like that would probably be pretty useful for those tiny midges and dry flies. Nothing but pike up here so attach a hook to a flattened beer can and haul 'em in! :) Catching them on a fly makes it more fun tho so I just raid the chicken coop for those ones.

Edit: Forgot to mention I need my prescription reading glasses to see anything clearly close up.
