WHAT IS THE SKUNK-IST PLANT YOU HAVE EVER GROWN ?

Cheese (exodus cheese) is a pheno from skunk1
Dinafems Critical had me shitting myself on calm nights in March early April with my outdoors . It reeked of that Skunky smell but failed to resemble like the old girl in appearance . The high was moderate and not that glazed over heavy hit . If anything looked even remotely like old school it was the Nana Glue I grew recently . The Calyxes were large and with only light pistils here and there . As for the smell though . Nope , not even close . Maybe it’s a good thing or they wouldn’t be remembered as fondly as they are 🤷🏼‍♂️

Not skunky but when I grew Grapefruit Kush it absolutely stunk like cat piss out of a dirty litter box. The ammonia smell was overwhelming to the point it got neasuating if I stayed in my grow area too long. Never encountered terps like that again.

Pineapple Diesel by Dynasty had a roadkill pheno. I got 1 of. Horrible carcass, vomit and excrement type smells throughout flower. Sounds unreal, I know. Hope others experienced that trauma also. Lol
The smell mellowed out a bit in the cure. Fantastic high to the smoke, just smelled so damn rank. Wife told me, "If you grow one that bad smelling again..." dudes, our clothes and hair smelled like that. It was bad. People at the restaurant I worked at complained. That was with a carbon filter.
Hello! Shit I need..... I need breeders to quit naming shit after fruit when it's something like that! I'd NEVER try a strain named after a fruit, and now I see again, that sometimes they can stink.... Like why did they name it that... It's so confusing.

LOL bro, Dead Whabbits, Cheetos, and most of Black Cheese are hanging in my closet. I smell AWESOME!
sounds like a cheese strain might be the closest to skunk ? over the many years the skunk genetics have become to "mixed" being re-worked of the years
I've pondered this exact thing myself; Technically it IS the same thing, and best I can tell, a recessive trait (otherwise we'd have more Cheese and not just because I recently lost my fear of pollen) but yeah, Skunky smells.... I've replied to this thread already about the closest I have personally seen, and it was a Blue Cheese mystery cross. So, I'd agree that somewhere in there, is the real deal. High Times did a hunt too, and of course, they looked through Cheese. That's how the Alpha Skunk Cheese I ran came about.

And a true standout !
believe I have a "cheese" strain from Big Buddha - just hope it germinates it's about 5yrs old

I'm not sure how you normally germinate seeds, but when dealing with seeds, I've had a few (literally once) that didn't want to go, and this is what I do, and what I did, to rectify it and get a Taproot out:

I take a Solo cup, and write the name on it, and then, add the seeds in to the cup, and fill it about half full with water, and "spin it" to get every part wet. Every day, I empty the water from the cup, and refresh it, to keep the water from going gross. You have to do this part or it'll mold up.

After a few days, normally the seed will sink, specially if you're "spinning the water" (just watch a Wine snob take a sniff from a glass, the thing they do to release tannins in the Wine, also can make a seed drop to the bottom of the cup) and once it sinks down, continue to refill the water every day to keep it fresh.

If 3 or 4 days goes by and you don't see a Taproot coming out, empty the water, and leave the seeds in the cup for like 2 days. (This has only happened once, but I left them in a cup, and let them dry out) and once it's been like 2 days of dry, refill the water, and rinse the cup so anything from the seed isn't there to make mold. When this happened to me this season, after the seed had dried out, I refilled with fresh water, and they were floating again. I continued filling with fresh water, and after a day or two, the seed sank again. Then, after about 2 or 3 days, it finally sprouted for me.

I've used this method to pop Tashkurgan seeds twice without ever having to "scrape the seeds".

Let me know which one it is, and how it smells :)

Hehehehe! I like that one! Cat Piss seems to be related to Cheese too, cause the only time I smell those terps, other than the ONCE ever I got to have actual Cat Piss, was in Blue Cheese mystery land. Yeah, legit hard to sleep at night when that one was hanging.
