I've switched over to BuildASoil 3.0 at @Idlewilder recommendation and really like it. Much better drainage and less compaction than the coast of Maine Stonington blend and it seems to feed for longer. Top dressing with more 3.0 in veg then the BuildAFlower top dress after flip. So far, so good. Really enjoying not having to mix many nutrients right now. I'm so busy lately that even saving just the few minutes it takes to measure and mix everything is really nice. I do add recharge every couple weeks and some silica in early veg which has helped beef up the stems a lot. Just need to automate my watering now!

Lights I'm using the CaliLightworks SolarExtreme 500 COB and the HLG Blackbird 600w QB for flower and a DIY 280w QB in veg.

medium :indoors I go 100% coco for first stage pots ( want a huge root mass) than Iā€™m using coco with rice hulls ( coco is a silica whore and rice hulls are very strong in that) than 10% (1.25 cups every 1 gal) of worm casting. Since I have a worm bed I even let the worms stay in the poop vs sifting it it, itā€™s amazing to see every scoop in the medium thereā€™s worms and they are eating the organic material and pooping all over , love it

if outdoors, I use soil/pestmoss but same methods. Thing was only reason I didnā€™t do both coco and soil this way (alive medium ) cause I couldnā€™t get a direct answer it was a good method, whatcha know lol

in coco living soil. I use grow beds (10 gal) and key is to never allow that medium to over dry out since itā€™s alive and also .itā€™s amazing to see h miles and rove beetles happy to be there cause thereā€™s enough organics and stuff to eat they donā€™t die off or leave . After using a more heavy and retaining medium not only am I using 30%+ less water but when using a living mediumit only requires half the amount of nutes given (my rez teaā€™s are less than 800ppm always ). Another benefit is the ease of not burning ur plants pnce u have a well feed medium , the plant will tell the microbes what they want and their circle of life is to be their Allie . People need to realize without this living relationship in organics wouldnā€™t be there but the benefit is I can add things that arenā€™t in the npk/nutes of current intake but the plant and microbe decide when itā€™s wanted vs synthetics where itā€™s there and now, I was using synthetics for many years and it never helped my yields and I always was playing scientist when a living soil u could water only water for such a big amount of time or tea em all the time and they will show happiness ethier way. Key is why so many think it sucks is they arenā€™t making a living medium or their setup isnā€™t allowing the colony become worth while. But once you have this alive medium not only are ur not throwing away ur medium anymore but awesome part is u have IPM for free .

city picker ( bed) really cool design cause u have 2 gals of water under the medium but it canā€™t touch no matter how much u water, than thereā€™s a air tube to the water. making ur medium moist enough and the balance of having a soil but a water source under it. made a huge diff very even same size pot and not having that extra bonus. Shoot if u werenā€™t top dressing u could fuck fungus gnats by omly watering the bottom and keeping top dry ( not my method )

tea compost: raw NPK Silica , Cal/mag, Epsom salt , Terp Tea Line , Pond zyme , Grow more bio-cozyme , Southern AG biological fungi (over 100x stronger than hydro guard, same species ), Regalia ( every 14 days), liquid BTI 8%, Raw grow microbe/Roots organic bio-force (every 1-2 weeks , stop week 6 of bloom), I re-add molasses ( raw dry molasses extract ) every 1-3 days to guratee microbes are feed. I try to use my teaā€™s within 8hrs and make small batches aka 35-55 gal rez.

best all in one microbes/fungi , from drought resistant, n/chitin/p/k intakers and protection/defense = bioforce

back of label, itā€™s always about the species and spore count ;)

0E0FBF38-1F5F-43C0-9FCB-2E82892EB7C8.jpeg

Top dress: worm poop sprinkled over (1-4 cups per 10 gal) + Terp Tea Line, Elemental , seabird guano ( week 1-5 , reason = boost only P vs PK for coco) , essential earth , neem meal ( 1-2 times per season) , crab/shrimp meal ( high calcium % and chitin ) or mealworm & raw grow microbe

my line sounds complicated but thereā€™s nothing easier than adding a few scoops into a rez and topping em every 2 weeks ( I donā€™t even add any top dressing to flower room or final pot, just teaā€™s every watering). Another thing and factor is I am ocd as fuck and I did math of all these things and use . this isnā€™t expensive what Iā€™m doing , exp vs bottled vs lines and my broad modes make this sooo easy to use but also have so much proā€™s and add onā€™s for instant ā€˜high populations even on first round of using ur medium. Example a lot only use root based focused species of microbes but using drought resistant , defense and intakers. Ur biological benefits are such a game changer even if not organics, they work for both and these companies selected for use on both.

best tea brewer vs stones out there! It can be made but for the cash itā€™s np for me, I have 3 are 3-5 years old and work perfectly!i let em run 24/7 and they are very durable. Key is having a good pump ( I use the 110 watts). nothing More annoying than cleaning or replacing air stones, exp for organics cause it def will happen more often. Having a good brewer makes all the differance and u can clean it np with some iso and a paper towel in seconds. Thing payed for itself first month and than some! Plus the bubbles are game changer

Main dry amendments/bio force

Full on organic super soil, water only with a floral tea every 3 weeks. Been recharging the same medium for a year and a half!!! I love the fact that my medium will keep going.
the only time I dump the medium is due to unhealthy plants, which is extremely seldom!

Mars sp-3000. Happy Frog and Megacrop....throw some worm castings, Mycos and other things here and there. The new Megacrop v3 has everything in it. I mix 105 grams to a gallon (I use 3 gallon jugs from Walmart with 315 grams) for my concentrate. Then I pour either 3,4 or 6 ounces of concentrate per gallon of water. Im no scientist, Im not trying to mix a bunch of stuff together. I worry zero about PH. It works out to .03 cents a gallon. And I get big fat stank ass buds! I don't think it could get much simpler with amazing results. Check it out.. Greenleaf Nutrients ā€“ Hydroponic and Soil Nutrients

This run I'm stepping away from coco and synthetic nutrients. I ran just ocean forest soil for veg. And for flower ocean forest that i added some fox farm dry flower fertilizer and will top dress with same dry fertilizers.

Trying for a straight water run. Tired of fussing with mixes and ipm. With coco the spinosad drenches dont seem to last long enough to kill off larvae properly but with soil its got plenty of time to do its thing.

My last go with ocean forest failed in flower run due to me letting soil dry out way too much. This run im keeping them moist and it seems to be working but ill know in a couple weeks when they get flipped.

Lights are all hlg boards. 65s for veg and 288s for flower. Really like the simplicity of boards vs hids. No bulbs, less risk of fire and no uv exposure.

The reason I use Megacrop with Happy Frog (or Ocean Forest) is because after about 3-4 weeks the plants have drained the nutrients from the soil. Keeping the soil moist is definitely the way to go 1. due to stress from drying out and 2. much less run off each watering, especially using fabric pots. Im with you on only wanting to water. Im really close to that...other than just pouring 4-6 ounces of a concentrate in the water Im pretty much there...good luck. Nothing better than just watering!

Roots 707 or Promix HP. Much of my current usage is likely a mixture of both, reused, partial re-ammend with Espoma Dry Tones of all sorts.
MegaCrop as a base, good ol' fashioned MaxiBloom for supplemental. Smiled on with good fortune, the tap water in my area is absolutely amazing.

Lighting is some combination of 315W CMH units, and LED strips/boards. Much of the LED is DIY strip configurations using Bridgelux EB, or Samsung. I also have multiple HLG QB Rspec, and a few QB96 elites. all single board units with individual drivers.

Currently running FFoF with the trio of liquid nutes and the soluble trio, pretty run of the mill. I like soil, the flavors it brings and plan on switching to General Hydroponics for a Blumat Tropf system in one of the tents to try it out with plans to expand it into a second one. Hand watering can be a bit tedious so short of going full on hydroponics I figure it would be the easiest to tryout, hoping to increase quality and yields.

Beyond that, run 3 tents, 2 4x4's and 1 2x4 with 2 Maxisun pb4000's and 1 pb2000, they run on the warm side but have ran them at about 70% light intensity or the room gets too warm and the tents overheat, if I had the funds I'd put in a portable AC unit but that might be next year.
