Pumpkin Pie

This year I used an opaque color

Last year was green and still have one on the back steps

It's faded some but you get the idea. 2 years ago it was the orange but bumpy pumpkins and of course still got one of those

It sat on the back steps for a year. Time to replace the green one?

The green one is pretty soft and will go to the big composter.

Anyway, Pie recipe
2 cups pumpkin puree
Start with a pumpkin. Just one about 3 lbs will make enough for 2 pies or buy 2 every year like me and watch one rot?

Cut it in half stem to bottom. Remove, wash, dry and save seeds, don't worry about that stringy stuff for now now.

Place cut side down on a pan and cook in the oven 1 hour @325F

Remove stringy material with spoon gently scraping.

Remove the meat and mash in a bowl.
20221124_090148.jpg
Measure out 2 cups and add
2 eggs
1 12oz can evaporated milk
3/4 Cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
Blend together and pour into a frozen pie crust I can't make one near the quality of frozen.
20221124_092311.jpg
Cook @400F 1 hour or until a toothpick comes out clean.
20221124_111401.jpg
Add Cool Whip and it's a meal?

Hey @PlumberSoCal with all the threads going with breakfast dessert and what's for dinner. You're well versed in these threads.....are you not disclosing something??? Me thinks you're not really a plumber....chef masquerading as a tradie hahaha. The guy firey moniker is an admission is it not? A world famous chef masquerading as a stoner plumber.... am I onto something???? ?

But actually...

Grandma taught me how to cook when I was a kid and my wife cooks way better than I do. I can do a few things better like bbq or Tacos but that woman makes meals that most would love. Talk about being blessed?
