1000%. My mom makes a warm german potato salad with mustard and bacon and Id take that over the mayo and celery version every damn day

Man, I could eat noodles every day, dont care about the weather outside lol. Basically my diet would just consist solely of a variety of tacos, curries and noodle bowls if I didnt have all these other people with their opinions around
Dude I have a weakness for a warm potato salad without celery. Mustard and bacon? Ooh. I might have the mustard on the side but whenever I hear bacon I’m like ?
As for noodles why can’t I get myself into Udon? Even my dog doesn’t like it and he is a ramen junkie, we give him long noodles sometimes lady n the tramp style lol. No lady just the doggo chomping on the longass noodles being held up above him lol.
There is a new Punjabi joint inside a gas station in my podunk town. I like Indian food but it has always been hit n miss w the curry, like more often than not the food I’ve had was competing in the extreme curry Olympics. Sweat that outta the pores in the summer to keep a 100ft radius shield around you lol. Not a curry fan in the first place but if done w subtlety I’m totally down. Good reviews so far so I will definitely be checking out their wares.

- Tacos
- BBQ/smoked (mostly straight up but sometimes a bit of sauce on the side just cuz)
- Pizza (super thick Chicago deep dish need not apply)
- Mediterranean (generic term here, but I love the shawarma sliced type stuff especially gyro lamb/beef)
- Soup - can’t beat a good Pho
- Banh Mi Sandwich extra pate
- In N Out Double-Double (sometimes a 4x4) animal style extra grilled onions

Ok I’ll stop now cuz the list is long but distinguished

Wife and I were trying to figure out the schedule, do we eat early or late, we decided ef it let's eat twice.

Might just be ham sandwich the 2nd go, a salad wouldn't hurt.
Ooo can you share your creamed corn recipe? I love creamed corn but my family hates it, I need to convince them theyre wrong

Other then processed turkey for sandwiches that it for us for another year. I bought a couple turkeys once and cooked one in like April. It was just ok so we save them for this time of year.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Does anyone use stuffing for its purpose anymore? I remember my mom bought that big clear bag of crouton looking things and actually stuffed the turkey. It just came out mushy n gross so she swore it off ever since. Once she found Stove Top it was over.
I dunno, but my wife's family makes stuffing out of unseasoned croutons and shreds turkey in it. Topped with gravy. ?

I've never heard of anyone getting sick before.

And here I am eating a half chicken tikka masala wrap leftover lol. I don’t understand why the meat was so red, like Chinese sweet n sour pork red but darker. It was good enough for me to try that place again (very clean, good service, even for a gas station) but I’ll be trying smth else. Butter chicken maybe? I guess it’s kinda like the chow mein of Americanized Indian food. I’d be down to try smth more exotic though.
Me thinks I’ll schmoke a few and trek back out later to find a taco truck ?

Yeah, the difficult part is getting the meat where its in contact with the stuffing to a safe temp without overcooking the bird. Of course I cook most of my meat well below the recommended temps to begin with soooo...

I still dont stuff the bird anyways, but thats cause Im team spatchcock... so its stuffing on the side! Everythings better that way

Yeah, a lot of tikka masala is dyed dark red. I grew up eating it from my moms British Indian friend and it was definitively not red, so when i first had it from a restaurant it was pretty jarring to see that crazy red color lol. Interesting aside, tikka masala doesnt exist in India. Its origins are a little murky but it was rumoredly created in Glasgow by a pakistani expat who added tomatoes to a traditional curry to make it more appealing to his customers!

Anywho, both tikka masala and tacos in one day sounds like heaven to me.

Also, Udon noodles are the least appealing noodle. I'll eat them, but im rarely excited for them. Maybe we just havent had good ones

I love learning new stuff, cultures being one of the most. I knew what I’ve eaten before was likely an American-ized version but in this case it may not originate from them but it’s famously known to be associated with them? Very interesting!

Ah Glasgow, the home of the deep fried Mars bar. I thought tikka massala was African. Anyhow anything with spices and new flavours I'm up for a taste. I agree with the flat udon noodle. Not a fan either.
