I got the Thit Nuong so there was no pate, it was the roasted pork (pork belly I think?) with a housemade aioli type sauce, the nuoc cham, pickled veg, cukes and jalapeno. There definitely wasnt enough of the pork but it tasted amazing. The pickled veg was great too. Hard to complain too much though, it was $6 in Boston. Nothing is $6 in Boston. Im not sure if I could buy just the roll for $6 at a bakery in Boston these days.
one of my go to's while i'm working is one of the many local taco spots. At the one I prefer, they still do a lunch combo of a big ass burrito, chips n salsa, and a can of soda for under 10. Torta, tacos dorados, pretty much all of it is still under 10 for the combo plates, which kicks ass. A combo meal at Wendys is more expensive and waaaaaay worse.

A local Filipino family thats run a local hair salon for like 20 years is about to open up a bahn mi not too far from the spot, and they seem to have put a lot of work into thier menu, so I am very excited to check it out.

Thit nuong is typically 70/30 pork shoulder. Some shops shortcut and use the pork butt cuz itโ€™s cheaper. The main thing is that the thinner cuts are the best. Imagine a banh mi w a thick ass cut of meat lol ? Nuoc Cham for dipping can be hit or miss depending on how much they put into it. Iโ€™ve found the most simple ones are the best. A few red pepper flakes in there mmm mmm

Thats why I think this one was pork belly, it was cubed meat, but super tender. Wasnt like shoulder or butt at all. Definitely different from any other bahn mi ive tried so far. This place had like 12 different options for fillings, I looked st the reviews after and it looks like the sliced meat ones get more filling so I'll probably try something different next time. Despite my bread complaint it was still good enough to warrant another visit for certain and we're gonna be working in the area for a few weeks

The hot dog separates the two pieces, they both came out different but both just melted in my mouth. Saved the leftovers. Maybe make some eggs and have a protein packed breakfast

Stickers off of sacks from the best dispensary Iโ€™ve ever been to circa 2010. It was local. I used to travel all through the Bay Area, Oakland, San Francisco, multiple cities in Oregon, and Washington and always came back to this dispo. On a 1-1/4x 5-1/2. What an odd size lol

Iโ€™ve never had a cubed meat banh mi. Always sliced. Idk about how the texture would be on that. BTW my mom made a banh mi using bolillo rolls from the Mexican store. Works good in a pinch it was like a mini banh mi (but still not the same)

My son kept commenting on how good these were. Tacos all day errโ€™day yeeeeeaaaa buddy ?? lol ironic how I got nice soft fresh tortillas then ended up crisping em up a bit 8558BE35-5247-4E2A-821A-65910B4544FB.jpeg

Also poured some coffee mate vanilla pods that I saved in the fridge from a hotel on the Mexi cookies. So damn good
