@Ramjet159 re time zones, we have 6 here in Canada, so calculating for time differences is part of daily life. (Check out what Newfoundland does, for a good laugh)

For me the mindfuck disconnect with you guys comes from our different seasons and the different day we are on. Even with my Irish family it's simple, they are 7 hours ahead, but you guys live in *tomorrow*. ??

I did some exploration work in my younger days, Northern Ontario/ northern Quebec. We had to build up the ice for the diamond drills to be able to drill the bottom of Lake Abitibi, it was -55C plus the wind chill! We had to build a ramp to keep a tiger torch lit under the snow machines so they would start in the morning.. A w Ajax pump in a hole in the ice and doing large circles all day long..
The spray from the hose would wrap you up in ice rather quick, and THAT was the saving grace! (Now we have insulation!)
It isn’t the cold that gets you,, it’s the wind chill… it’s a very real issue we take rather seriously up here…

Been on so many job sites where they won't just shut down when it gets stupid cold and it is moronic. Nothing gets done, you spend all your time fucking around with equipment, and everything starts breaking.
Zero productivity and thousands of dollars in repairs needed, good call Boss. (y)

I lived in Chicago, which is training-wheels cold, I know, for 8 years and that was much too much!
1st time I go to Chicago I fly into O'Hare in Feburary 1981, -40, -80 wind chill. Walked out the double doors to get a cab and that cold grabbed me by the BALLS! Went back inside, opened my suitcase and donned almost every piece of clothing I brought. Spent 2 weeks listening to the warning on tv, "Don't go outside for more then 5 minutes..."

Training wheel cold????

@Amarok Those are the days I like to get a good chuckle at the higher ups.. ” it’s gonna cost ya fucker!”
I've had times where I've said directly "What you want will not work and this is why. (explain reasons) If you insist, we will do it that way, and then next week we will be back to redo it. It doesn't matter to me as long as you keep signing the time sheets, I just want the record to show I did try to explain."
