I'm so glad you mentioned this. I found what I hope is a really hurtful meme I made, then lost,
and didn't get to deploy, addressing this very subject. Hate to let any snark at all go to waste.

Well that’s me convinced . I’m going to apply for parole when I need a break from this circus . Usually I just do what I do at the pub when I don’t wanna be noticed leaving. “ just takin a leak “ and then don’t come back .
I must be coming up to sufficient accrued leave shortly and seeing as I’m one of only a few foreigners holding up this joint loading on top is in order .
I’ll check in every few days to balance the till then fade off quietly to reflect again .
Won’t take long to reflect . I live in the same town I was born in .?

I's kinda nice that masks have been normalized. I can wear one every time I have a bad face day.
(shut up, yes it's every day) ;)

Also, I noticed vehicles at the curling rink while out walking so I stopped in and watched for a bit. It's the first time I've seen activity there. One game was going on in a little two sheet barn. I watched an end and greatly enjoyed myself. At some point it occurred to me that it is probably at least 13 years since I've been inside a curling club(maybe even 15+), even though I grew up in them. It took a minute to remember the lingo(I drew a blank on the term shot rock for an embarrassing amount of time). My only complaint was they were playing a subtle draw game and I was wanting to hear the sound of rocks smashing together.

Did a trip to the city today and reaped some more karma. :)
Renewed my car registration and the girl provided excellent service, even noticing that my drivers license was due for renewal. As we were concluding, she needed to get a signature from a boss, explaining that she was just finishing her first 3 months so was still under increased scrutiny.
I then asked to speak to her supervisor, providing no other information.
The supervisor approached me nervously while the girl watched, even more nervously.

I proceeded to tell the boss about the above-and-beyond service I'd received, and expressed my gratitude. She was thrilled to get the feedback and the girl was so grateful she would have washed my car if I'd asked. ;)
I didn't do it to be nice or friendly, I did it because she'd earned it, but her gratitude was still heart-warming.

Then I went to a head shop I used to frequent. I was looking for a backup injector bowl, or workable facsimile. I shot the shit with the guy and while they didn't have what I wanted, he pulled out this pipe. I looked it over and realized it would work really well with the B-Zero. (update: it kicks ass)
I didn't ask for a discount, but he gave me the $40 pipe for $20 and tossed in a bowl, a lighter, and a bag of oversized screens perfect for another bowl I have.

Maybe not the biggest score, but this crazy cheat code of treating people well just keeps paying off. :)

Don’t take much to be a good person in life and make somebody feel appreciated . Good on you champ . You would’ve made her day and boosted her confidence big time ??????

Thanks Brother.
It really doesn't take much to brighten up someone's day, and in turn, one's own. I don't share these stories to toot my own horn, but honestly, I'm just hoping to maybe inspire one other nice act.
It's isn't all altruistic. Karma is real.

K, enough of that shit. Back to yapping about fish, moose, snow, and making fun of my boy, @Hugh Jass .

You're a bit younger than I am, but this is something that the wife and I have had to discuss as we've moved into
our "golden years" - what to do if one of us develops dementia. Neither of us wants to be left alive if we do get it.
What would even be the point of continuing? Quality of life is much more important than quantity or length.

This was an interesting watch in regards to dementia @Hugh Jass @Amarok

There are no truer words, my friend.

I watched someone very important to me slowly get eaten alive by that fucking cancer and when the end mercifully came I was so happy. I still had my grief to deal with, but at least their pain was finally over.

I'm here until I become a burden. Then I'm done.
I lost both my Grandfather and Mother to cancer in a slow painful decline . Was a journey I wished no one had to go through . Cruel

Hey @Psychobilly ive been a good mate and looked around for an exotic pet your so keen on . I thought something big and bold would match your personality . I’m even willing to liaison and negotiate a price seeing as I’m local .
He’s a bit of an ugly bastard with a head only his mother could love but I’m sure in time you’ll warm to him .

Now there’s only a few rules
Never leave feed time longer than usual . He gets grumpy
When feeding , our entertainment is always ahead of your welfare so the shorter the feeding stick ( chicken attached ) the better
And finally Crocs do not eat cheese or you’ll piss him off big time .
Good luck . You’ve got 10 minutes to size up your back yard and make a decision .
