Which breeder has the best old school Northern Lights?

Theres are guy who comes on the forums as royal flush or a couple of other names. He has something he calls star light wich is the closest ive seen in years to nevils own selected #5 cutting an what made nl#5 world famous. His star light is made from a very nl#5 leaning a5haze and nevils own made bx8 nl#5. Its probably the best representation out there and is actually based on nevils own selected private nl#5 cutting.

What tod and greg now sell as nl#5 in seed is diffrent to the seed he sent to nevil as nl#5. And nevil ended up mainly using a single cutting he found in those seeds. Something he called a sport phenotype, a one off extreme plant he was unable to find in the seeds again. Everything nevil sold using the nl#5 used that specific plant and is what people came to know and recognise as nl#5. It would be pretty difficult to find something like that especialy in ibl seeds from something different. Clever marketing by putting into the readers head that greg sent nevil the seeds. Makes one think your getting the same thing or near enough.

So, You think that AG isn't providing Beans that are the True NL#5 and is just hyping the marketing with stores of the origins for his bean selection? @GoldenDragon

I've been on the hunt for Genetics that finish early & yield heavy for outdoors in the N.East

Demand for outdoor strains that finish early is getting stronger!
I'm looking for something that works in the PNW.
Several breeders make the claim, but few actually deliver.

Have you heard of Rainbird from Aficionado?

Rain bird was bred by my boy dos Rios Dylan and it’s an F4 seed selection – it’s crossed with platinum cookie jag goo with a local heirloom and harvests in mid to late August. It’s a crazy production strain for production row croppers who want regular seeds and not autos but an August harvest.

The B9 is a legit pure old school Afghani that was stabilized and shared in the Covelo area for quite some time from the 80’s

Dos Rio Dylan is the founder of Waska one of the oldest edible companies in Cali and he’s based out of dos Rios / Covelo area”

Thanks for the tip!
SeedsHereNow has Rain Bird but they are out of stock.
Kinda pricey @ $428.88 for a pack of regs. 💰

My winter project this year will be crossing Early Bird by Vashon with Project 25 (F2) by Copa.
Hopefully something fast enough for the PNW will come out of that... 🌧️

Here's my Northern Lights.......she's still out there. Had one little spot of rot early. In a 7gallon pot. It's sensi's #2 x #5. Total leaf bomb that sucks to trim but the smoke is good. With all the rain and rot, I'm not sure how she's still out there.

not much fade and she's been under attack by mites and bugs since she was set out.

But some breeders are working on outdoor gear 😇

I have 2 of them out there and no rot. I could take the plants now but another week would make me happier :) Almost 8' tall

Then there's pH Magic......she's about 7' tall. This was the #3 and has done very well outside.

This one is Royal Jelly by InHouse. A pretty plant and in the "no rot" club. It's a King Sherb cross. I have another King Sherb cross out there too and it's also rot free.

Purple Crunch I have 2 of those and no rot there either. Cherry Lotus= no rot.
I doubt that I'll grow Ice Cream Punch, Stardawg or Raspberry Parfait again outside. Mold/Rot was brutal. (and stardawg was ugly too)

I'm still outside as well.
All Rain & little Sun this summer as well as Septoria right as they were entering Flower I believe has set me back. Now 40* nights and cooler days thing are slowing down. Cut out my 1st bud rot yesterday.

Septoria was a problem on the stardawg. Nothing else. Nasty bizness.
I think my Tsunami actually drown.....it was just going into a nice fade and then the fans all curled up and were dying. All kinds of record rainfall here and twice given disaster status....15" in one week!!!!!!!

I'm taking those meter maids now.
