🔥Freak Genetics🔥
@Frimpong
I didn’t express myself well in my last post.
This BBBread plant was flipped 95 days ago.
When she started to through all the new growth I was surprised. But she still looked happy and healthy, so I figured I would let her go and just see.
Scope shows cloudy with almost no amber, so I have just continued to let her do her thing as a bit of an experiment.
It will be interesting to see what the difference is between the two plants.

Cheers,
WillieP
Very interesting ? that's gonna be some strong medicine for sure

I know that not everyone would have let this plant just keep on keeping on.
But I didn't need the flower, and I wanted to see just what this girl would do.
Today was 97 days in 12/12.

The amount of weight that this plant developed is just crazy.
She just kept stacking the foxtails.
I will be interested to see that type of tonnage that she finishes out at.

Big thanks to Frim for letting me have the chance to run her.

Bookkeeping:
Down to 2 plants in flower.
1 Frozen Lemonade and 1 Wedding Cake.
I have 2 clones of the Frozen Lemonade that I am taking clones of. This one is not the easiest to clone.
I would like to be able to share her if I can.
I'm going to take a little trip towards the end of next week and will start new seeds when I return.
BTW, I ordered some Blumat self-watering 'carrots' for while I'm gone and will report on them after I return.

Cheers,
WillieP

Hey Willy! That's a monster you just dropped. Just a heads up, I'd take a good look at some spots that look like this (zoomed in from your first pic)...

IMG_0288.JPG

I hope I'm wrong but that looks like it could be the beginning of some botrytis/bud rot. And in my experience, sometimes when a plant starts foxtailing like crazy and doesn't seem to want to finish well past its expected flower time, stress is often a factor. It's certainly possible it's just genetics as well, but I'd say 50% of the girls that have done that to me have wound up having an issue I wasn't aware of... bud rot, root rot, intersex issues etc

Again, hard to tell from a picture and I hope I'm incorrect, just want you to be vigilant!

Hey Boys and Girls,
It has been a bit since I have updated.
Things just chugging along.
These are pics of the Frozen Lemonade; it is the plant that was brought back from CO as a clone by a friend.
She is starting to chunk up some.
She was flipped on 6-20, so 50 days today.
This is the first run of this plant, so I am guessing, but I would think this one may take a while.
She is supposed to be very sativa leaning.
Time will tell.
She does not clone well. I'm having about a 50% success rate, and it takes 3-4 week to get that.
(Exact same conditions as the Wedding cake clones, and they went 100% in 7-10 days.)
I have originally taken 3 clones successfully. I gave one to the person that brought the original clone back.
And kept the other two to be able to clone those and distribute them to friends.
It's working, just not easily.

PS
The Wedding cake is doing well. Flipped 3-1/2 weeks ago.

Hi Gang,
Well it’s been nearly two weeks since my last update on the Frozen Lemonade plant.
She is really starting to mature nicely.
These pics were taken at 8 weeks from flip.

I haven’t checked her with a scope yet, but I will this weekend.
This plant is supposed to be more on the “up” side of things effect wise, so I will want to harvest earlier than I usually do.
Cheers,
WillieP

Just a little bookkeeping.
I harvested the Frozen Lemonade plant yesterday at 11 weeks on the dot.
Really nice buds, and overall, very happy with the way this plant came out.
Trichomes were all cloudy with just a touch of amber.
I'm very interested to see what the high is like on the one.
I was able to share some clones with others as well. Hopefully their grows go well also.
I still have a clone that I am taking additional clones off of in case this is something killer that I want to keep around.

Cheers,
WillieP

Wow...
It's been a long time since I updated, my bad!
I only have one plant in flower and I haven't been paying a great deal of attention to it.
It is the Wedding Cake, and I have never grown it before.
It was flipped on 7-17, so 61 days today.
It looks like it is getting close, so I gave it a looksie this evening.
And what to my wondering eye should appear...

IMG_0502.JPG IMG_0504.JPG IMG_0505.JPG

They are all over this thing...
As mentioned, not a huge deal for me, as it won't be pollenating anything.
I was bummed that I had passed out a bunch of clones of it.
I just gave the heads up to the person that passed the clones along. I would hate to screw up someone else's grow.

I will chop it this weekend, and it will make edibles just fine...No Problammo!

Next up for me you ask...
I have seedlings of Road Kill Skunk courtesy of @Deebs and Red Congolese X Garlic Breath +Red Skittles X Garlic Breath courtesy of @Frimpong.
They will be a while yet getting to the fun stage, but that is what is next on the hit parade.

Cheers All,
WillieP

You been getting high humidity?
the last Birthday Cake I ran, as well as a clone I gave to a friend both started popping nanners fiercely when we were having humidity issues.. however, the first one I ran, the humidity never got above 55 and probably averaged 45 throughout the grow and it never shot a nanner out until day before I was going to pluck her.

PTJ,
No high humidity, actually it's been really dry here.
My grow tents are in my basement, and I control the humidity of the whole space with a dehumidifier.
I have to run a humidifier in my veg tent to try and keep it up.
I suspect it was just the genetics. I harvested a Frozen Lemonade not that long ago that was in the same tent as the WC with no problems.

I appreciate you stopping by!

Cheers,
WillieP

Hey Gang,
I thought I would share this with my PH friends.
It's not a cannabis tree, but it is a pretty cool tree IMHO.
I made this for my adult daughter's birthday, which is today.
It's a time-consuming process, but I was happy with the finished product.

Looks really time intensive. It that made from magnet wire? Also what are the berries on the branch ends?

Your daughter had to be stoked. What a treasure!!!

Thanks UB!
The wire is un-coated #22 ga soft copper.
I use that kind intentionally so it will tarnish.
Magnet wire can be used, but it has a finish on it and won't tarnish.
The berries on the end are glass #8/0 seed beads.
This is the largest one I have done. For reference, the pot it's in is 10 inches in diameter.
My daughter was pretty surprised and pleased as well.

This is the first one that I made for my mom a couple of years ago. It is supposed to represent a cherry tree we had when I was a kid.

Man - I love it!!
Just looks like magic...

I don't know if you'll ever want to try this, but I put a patina on a copper piece about a decade ago that my dad made using Miracle Gro.
Creating a copper patina fast!

The trees I want to just let tarnish naturally, but I have made a couple of these roses as gifts and researched the copper patina thing pretty heavily back then.
There are some really cool affects you can get, blue, green, black, brown. Using cool stuff too. Miracle Gro, eggs, mustard. It's crazy!
Thanks for the kind words and the cool tip.

Hey Gang,
I could use a helping hand.
I just don't seem to have the hang of sexing my plants.
Would y'all mind giving your opinion on if this plant is male or female?
It would be much appreciated!
Thanks all.
Cheers,
WillieP

BTW, this is a Red Skittles x Garlic Breath by @Frimpong. This is the only one I have going at the moment. I would love for it to be girly!

IMG_0549.JPG IMG_0548.JPG IMG_0547.JPG

Just for bookkeeping, I have 3 RKS plant up and going, along with 2 Red Congolese x Garlic Breath as well.
