So I just wanted to note my progress here for future reference.
I did double my salt input to 6 grams MB, 4 grams Cal/Nit and 2 grams Epson Salt.
Has been steadily giving me around 1120ish PPM. Zero tip burn on either plant.
I do think that I could even go higher, but being this close to the finish line on these two, I have chosen to stay where I am at on this round.
I think the plant that was having issues has diffidently improved. I don't mean it is a lush green now, but it also doesn't look like it's still fading away.
I will work on my nutrient game on the next plant, always something to improve on!

On the next round news, I flipped the 3 smaller Blue Dreams I have going to force them to show sex.
One is male, one female, and one I'm not sure about yet. When the last one shows I will flip them back to veg and let them grow up some more.
Naturally the one known female is the least health looking of the three. I did up-put it to a 2 gallon fiber pot.

Also started a White Widow (fem) that is up and running. I tried something different this time, I started it in a root riot and then planted that in soil after the seed sprouted and I knew it was going to make it. Worked like a treat.

Cheers,
WillieP

So remember just yesterday when I mentioned my one remaining female Blue Dream???
The one that looked like this...

IMG_8744.jpg

Well today she looked like this...
IMG_8746.jpg

Yep. Same plant. She/He seemed to be a little confused sexually.
So I put Her/Him out of it's (thier?) misery...
IMG_8741.jpg

Bye-Bye Blue Dream.
On a positive note, I didn't let it get to be a fully vegged plant and then find out after I flipped it.
(like I did on the last one I tried)
I guess this old dog is learning new tricks.

Good thing I have lots of seeds to try. I will wait a bit to start anything, I really am trying to get to a perpetual grow, and the White Widow seedling is just getting started. That will give me some time to figure out what is next on the hit parade.

Cheers,
WillieP

Today I went and had a good look at the big girls I have in flower.
This is a Super Silver Haze.
IMG_8752.jpg

I am not using heavy enough of a nutrient program IMO, and I think this plant is simply under nourished.
Still the buds are filling out and it will make a harvest.

This is an AK-47.
IMG_8751.jpg

Odd thing is that it is on the same strength feed program as the SSH.

Totally different plant. Big Fat Buds! I think these will be the largest buds I have grown so far.
IMG_8753.jpg

It looks like they have at least 2 weeks left. Today is day 53. So they may really chunk it on...

I still have another couple of weeks before I drop more seeds.
The little WW is just doing her little seedling thing.

Cheers,

So another week in the books, (today is day 60 from flip) the two ladies in flower are continuing to get chunky.
Just doing their thing...

Both starting to get heavy enough to bow down the branches even with support. That's a good thing!

The little White Widow is still rocking it. Just starting her 5th node.

Heck ya Willie! Absolutely killing it.

It is funny how different the nutrient requirements for different plants can be. Even within the same strain sometimes.
GMC,
Well I think this is all on me.
I started in hydro and was accustom to going by a PPM reading of nutrient level.
I am in soil this round and I was still just using the PPM readings. I need to learn to read the plant better.
I think my error all along has been underfeeding.
I use dry nutrients (Jack's or Masterblend) and have never went by the suggested feed schedule, just went by PPM.
I think part of the problem is in the fact that I use RO as a base and add approximately 330-360 of Cal/Mag and Silica Blast to it and that is included in the overall PPM reading. My thought is that this is leaving me short on the amount of salts I am adding.
The Jack's feed schedule says that 3-2-1 grams per gallon of water is an 80% feed. (3.6-2.4-1.2 is a 100% feed)
I was feeding at 3-2-1 grams per 3 gallons of water, so a third of what I should have been.
When I finally realized this, I did double my input to 6-4-2 grams per 3 gallons, but that is still light.
On my next run I will work on getting my nutrients schedule in order.
My plants have always looked good in Veg, and even in early flower, but about week 3-4 of flower is where the wheels usually fall off.
I think I have just been starving my girls.
But I'm going to work on that!

Thanks for the kind words.
Cheers,
WillieP

Here is that little White Widow that I have been mentioning...

IMG_8769.jpg

I took that pic right after I had up-potted her.
Her roots looked healthy and not really over crowded, but I like to give them slightly larger shoes every so often.

Everyone has seen a little plant and some roots.
This is more for my records than anything...

Well the two in flower are at day 65 today, I had thought that maybe this week end they would be ready, but they both still seem to be throwing of white pistils.
I will break out the scope this week end and have a good looksie, I have a feeling that they will need to go longer.
I'm not in any hurry at all, I grow it LOTS faster than I use it.

So back on 9-8-21 I posted that I had to ax the last of my Blue Dreams.
It showed male after the flip, got the chop and I just pitched it (pot and all) in a corner of the basement.
I found it today...

IMG_8819.JPG

All I can say is the will to live is strong with this one!
No water, not light (other than typical basement lighting) for 3 weeks.
This little male is a tough old bird.
Seems a shame to kill it twice, but I have no use for him.
Such is life...

So this evening I had a chance to visit a friends outdoor grow.
He and his family have grown outdoors on the same farm for more than 30 years.
It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to see his plants and how he does things.
I hope to get to go back out in a few more weeks when he may need help with harvesting.
Thought I would share some pictures I took...
It's hard to get a perspective of the size of the plants. The smallest was 4-5 feet and the largest was 7-8 feet.

Almost another week under the WW's belt.
It's starting to grow out where it was topped, so I started a little LST'ing.
I've left the lowers on for now. I may want to clone her (Fem seed) for a couple friends just starting their grows.
WW is said to be a beginner friendly strain.
As I mentioned earlier, I want to get my nutritional/feeding routine on point with this plant.
We will see...

Today we gather here to celebrate the life of my SSH and my AK-47.
They had ran a good race, but their time had come.
Flipped on July 21st, 2021 and died today October 10th, 2021, (81 days in flower)
I don't think they should have taken that long, and I feel like that was the growers (my) doing. (nutrition and environment)
SSH although she was underfed, still filled in nicely.
And AK-47 produced the largest buds that I have personally grown.
I am drying in two different methods, with the AK-47 I chose to hang the branches and with the SSH I placed the branches in a collapsible drying rack.
Looking forward to moving on, I think that I will not veg out as long as I have been in the future. I grow lots more than I use and a shorter veg time would mean that I can run through more strains. Thinking of cutting the veg time down to 6 weeks from 8 weeks.
Anyway, on to the pics...

Bud shot...hard to get a perspective.

And then there were none...

IMG_8864.jpg

It will be a bit before I have anything else in the flower tent. But that will give me a chance to add some more strips to my DIY LED light.
I have the WW coming up and will drop seeds from @Willie, the Pink Lotus he was so kind to share is up next. After that is some testers from @Frimpong 4 weeks from now. (I swear I will have a perpetual grow if it kills me!!)
On a side note, I snapped a branch off of the WW while adjusting the LST weight, so I just topped the opposite side to make them match.
It will just make her a little more bushy, it's all good.
That's it for now.
Cheers,
WillieP
