After my surgeries this year and insane drop in weight, I no longer had to take blood pressure meds. However, although I have always preferred savory over sweet foods, I found myself really craving salts even more. After several blood tests (about one every month or so) my sodium levels were low. As a side note, my bad cholesterol was excellent. My doctor actually suggested for me to eat more salty foods contrary to what the belief has been for so many years.
Kimchi as noted in the video is said to be really good for you, as is with most fermented foods. I occasionally eat fermented foods like this and have noticed positive results. Iβm looking to bring more of these fermented foods into my diet.
This is what my Mom says and Mom is usually correct. She makes all kinda pickled and fermented stuff. Had some fermented cucumber yesterday and it was delicious. I love her pickled daikon too. She was totally ahead of her time when it comes to stuff like healthy choices (especially food) and environmental conservation stuff. Recycles and repurposes almost everything since the early 80s. Our recycle trash cans are fuller than the trash-trash cans. She wonβt even BBQ during the typical BBQ holidays cuz she feels that every little bit helps and too many ppl are burning things during those holidays. I'm thinkin this probably isn't a great popular hobby practiced by many of youuns, but for those that do ferment "food stuff" we can share here. We are fermenting tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers right now. Such a simple a fast way to make some good tastin stuff taste "Great"! For tomatoes all...phenohunter.org

In addition to the probiotics, fermentation increases the bioavailability of nutrients. Simple red cabbage becomes a superfood.
As do beets.
