In Bloom
Yeah me too, one thing I do know is that the Durbin Poison an IBL, so it's been heavily worked but I have no which Durbin Posion accession it was derived from.yes a little with both but individually, generally speaking get ready for a big sativa with a maybe somehwat reasonable flowering time (both of these strains able to finish in new england outdoor for the most part)
I imagine you'll know if you have a 'Durban' leaner by the sharp anise and sour citrus terps - very loud -
mexican sativas tend to provide sweeter terps and more leggy plants with smaller denser buds -
all that said, it sounds like these are probably F1 seeds which can give you some really interesting results that resemble neither parent - along with some that express similarly to each parent. If they are f2 and beyond the possibilities increase too. Some parents tend to dominate a cross (Greenpoint stardawg male is a good example), some tend to mix perfectly, and some tend to mix poorly.
happy hunting hope you get to run them and share the results!
I know there was a coffe shop that dervied their own supply of Durbin Poison separately from the one brough in by I want to say Mel Frank but I can't remember.
Unfortunately the breeder discontinued a lot of his old lines and sold the seed in bulk for a dollar a seed, and has absolutely no interest in talking about his old work at all and blew me off when I reached out to him, DeadPanHead seeds out of Oregon in case you were wondering.
I also just picked up another African Landrace called KwaZulu, that was open popped for Dagga.garden and the Future Project by Hoku Seeds, and their selling them for 15 buccks for a ten pack so I couldn't say no, saldy they only let you by one pack.
Hoku who was kind enough to reach out to me had this to say when I reached out to him on Instagram " The kwazulu was a reproduction of made for Dagga. It’s a South African line that’s clearly been worked. Beautiful buds, pretty dense, all seemed to be about 10 weekers, maybe a few going to 12. But for a pure sativa, I’d say it’s one of the best I’ve ran. Not landracey at all if you know what I mean. Terps have that hazey, sweet, floral and soaring high."
Hoku ia a great dude unlike that dooche canone fron DeadPanHead, I also wound up with a pack of his Syrian Landrace as a freebie so that was cool.
