Columbian Haze

Original Haze was first bred in 1969 in the Santa Cruz Mountains by a gentleman named G.

G exchanged seeds with Skunkman Sam who saved the variety and turned the world onto Haze.

I begot the variety directly from Skunkman Sam IN 2012 and they are the original 3 way Colombian Haze that was first bred in 1969 in the Santa Cruz mountains by Sam's neighbor "G". Sam kept them through IBL breeding since the 70's to preserve the variety.

This variety contains no Afghan/Indica, it is unlike most everything in modern cannabis.

Please note: Original Haze is an amazing variety that is best used for breeding. You will no doubt find some wonderful examples of Haze, but do note that there is a lot of variation in the variety and that is what makes it such a great plant to breed with.

Ok, what to do here.
I'm planning on dropping these in 60 days.
Gotta have a dedicated spot for at least 5 to 6 months to pull it off.
I'm figuring on starting them under 13 hours for 5 weeks and then to 12.

So, in Bogata Columbia the winter soltice is 11 hr 53 min daylight amd the summer soltice is 12 hr 23 min daylight.

So,,,,,,,, should these Haze be started under 12 hr days for 5 weeks then to 12 and a half hours for 3 months and then finish under 12?!?

To me that says 12/12 from start and finish under 11/13.
But I'm probably wrong, wouldn't be the first and won't be the last

With 18 to 22 weeks flower they would be started early in the year, spring, 12/12, then through summer 12.5/11.5 and into late fall 12/12.
I'm thinkin the outdoor cycle.

So I will have a run of 11, hope for a great germ rate on these.
I'll be starting them when the RKS and NL#5 runs are about 3 weeks from being done

So It'll be the middle of November to start these as the 2 above will finish the first 2 weeks of December.
Dang, that'll be a May harvest for these Haze!

These Columbians would be my pick to have something truly special in them. Its def a whole lot of work, but I would hunt the offspring from these for sure.

Ok, so i have 6 Columbian Haze from Mass Medical and 5 Columbian Haze from Authentic Genetics.
Should these be run together or not?!?
2 lines, same region, differant breeders.
Descriptions are very close including flowering.

Mass Medical Strains

Acapulco Gold ⚤ This is a rare, vintage strain which is extremely hard to come by these days.

If you haven’t smoked this original import decades ago, chances are your parents or grandparents did, and it’s all they talk about (still!)

Landrace strains are pure genetic lines which evolved in a particular region to be a certain way over long periods of time.

This is much different than the hybrid strains that people breed by crossing two strains together.

Pure landraces have much more unique traits to them, and often with that comes a very very unique type of high!

These seeds are really special, pure, vintage sativa landrace seeds.

For those who don’t believe there is a difference between Indica and sativa, they have not grown these seeds!

Flipping them to flower at 8 inches tall, topped 2-4 times, you can expect a finished plant between 4-6 feet tall, with massive yields.

Save big on veg time, they do most of their growth in the first weeks of flower.

Depending on phenotype, these can take 12-24 weeks to bloom.

They’re easier to grow than it sounds, and they’re a perfect addition to any perpetual flower room.

I think I would run together. Label and note differences and similarities. You might end up with something special.

I really think it depends on your goal... if it's to preserve the work of the breeder then separate, but if your goal is to preserve the genetics of the region run them together. Personally I'd run them together, it would increase the genetic diversity of the offspring

Ok all youuns who have grown these sativa varities, how did ya run your photoperiod?
Columbia has a photoperiod ranging from winter soltice 11hrs 53 mins to summer 12 hrs 35 mins. Give or take a couple mins.
Do they kinda act like a auto and do their own thing lol?

I don't pretend to know an answer to your question, but I am interested in the answer. I did a little googling and found this article.

Equatorial cannabis varieties

Cannabis is known to be a photoperiod-dependent plant; when summer draws to a close, the plants typically stop growing new shoots and leaves.
