Forecast called for clear, sunny skies. Meteorologists are all charlatans. I got 3 hours of rain with intermittent thunderstorms. At least it was warm.

Just posting this here as it could easily have been me. I have been almost wiped out multiple times this summer by inconsiderate, selfish assholes while riding my bike on the highway to go fishing. People have roared past me at 110kmh with inches of clearance while traffic fills the oncoming lane.

Please show consideration to cyclists and pedestrians on the highways. Your time is not worth more than someone's life.

I'll second this!!

Man, I could rant for hours. I've been riding bicycles for my transportation for 25 years. I can't count how many close calls I've had. Actually, surprised I'm still alive, I know it's going to kill me someday. I was hit once, luckily, I just ended up on the guy's hood. Bike didn't fare so well though, tires were bent really bad. Of course, I was berated as if it was my fault, it wasn't. Once I collected myself, I was hot, old boy settled right down and didn't want anything to do with calling the cops.

In the past month we've had 2 hit and run deaths in our county, one was a bicycle and the other a woman jogging. Every year it gets a little bit worse, more vehicles and more aggression.

Police allege Higgins was trying to pass two vehicles on the left when the second vehicle in front of Higgins moved to the middle of the two lanes so it could safely avoid the Gaudreaus. Higgins then allegedly tried to pass on the right side and struck the cyclists from behind, killing them both.

The rage this induces in me is not healthy.

Puke should be took out and horsewhipped like my dad would say. No respect, me, me, me, that's the real pandemic. Can't say if it's worse than ever or not but it's not good. Can't let it ruin us though. I'm glad I have things I enjoy doing and am able to do them, things that can help reset my mental state. Not everybody has that. Devices in everyone's hands that play into the fear and anger don't help.

Popped down to the river for a bit this afternoon. It only took a couple minutes to find 'em and in an hour or so I put 5 walleye on the bank. I got a wee fella about 13 or 14 inches, a couple in the 17 inch range, and a couple beauties in the low 20s.

About 6 weeks till hardwater, hopefully the weather will let me keep working the river until as close to then as possible.
