Thanks but it sounds like the Mass Medical seeds are also prone to intersex plants. Just going off of what people say on icmag. I’m starting to think it’s just part of the strain.

Been growing MassMedical now for many years and have grown at least 15 + of their strains and NEVER have I grown an "intersex" plant. Can list the strain if needed. Were do you get the "pron to intersex" have never heard that of MassMedical ?

Acapulco Gold

This is a Mexican heirloom that is called Acapulco Gold. it's been explained to me that this has been maintained and kept by a Mexican breeder and this was grown inside from those seeds obtained in Mexico. To my eye they posses some gnarly ancient looking features but I know there are brothers...

several mentions in that thread from different people about intersex plants with Mass Medical AG. I also saw a grow report elsewhere for the Bodhi seeds specifically doing the same, and those were used to make the Mass Medical seeds.

Yea, Ok yes that was "open pollination" with the AC -REG strains that I ran were all female seeds - Yea with regular seeds anything can happen - I mean what does one expect with regs ! Please explain "intersex" ? hermies ?

Well in my case, it’s female pistils on male plants, like the pictures I posted. So far I’m not seeing hermies on my female plants.

Were the males in a different space?
I tend to think one of two things
1. Environmental factor caused herm in that area (light leaks, timer, ect)
2. I was on to something with the x to autosome sex determining.

What else would explain only the males being intersex? Hmmm...

Admittedly I have read that post on x autosome sex determining multiple times and still don't fully get it tho.

No they are not MMS is legit. I have never gotten Nana's on MMS gear. It's some great sativa dominant genetics they mostly carry.

OP is saying that this ONE STRAIN is prone to intersex/hermie.
This is based on their experience and reading about others experiences.

So if you all want to have a discussion, please keep in mind we're talking about just the one strain, which in my understanding Mass Medical did a reproduction of from Bodhi stock.

he said that there was a consensus, from multiple sources, that the mms AG repro - from bodhi stock - is prone to intersex.

There is a guy at the field I fly at in his early 60's. We get along well, old gear head. You bring up herb and he will go on and on about Acapulco Gold.

So I grew out a pack of Acapulco Gold seeds from Sensible Seeds (now sold out) and they used the Mass Medical seeds to produce theirs. A few weeks into flowering, all of my males turned intersex. I was hoping to make more seeds to preserve this classic strain, but now wondering if I should even bother to continue this seed run.

I've read that males that put out some pistols tend to produce very sexually stable females. You would think it was the other way around. This info was put out by Ethos. Whether you believe it or not is up to you. I can't say for a fact or not. Maybe something to keep in the back of your mind and look into if you want. I hope this info helps you and good luck with the breeding. I would like to know if you used this male and how the progeny turned out.

been looking for some MassMedical Acapulco Gold X star pupil - bid on it on DC Seed Exchange placed the last bid but didn't win because of some fuck=-up with the auction. Still Looking. maybe some day a pack or seed will "show-up" @antheis you are right some of his strains aren't the best genetics and every breeder has a few "shit" strains Be nice to find a AC seed by MMS
