Foul Stench

Hey @Psychobilly Do you have a name for the Alpha Skunk Cheese X Cheetos yet?
Not yet; I've been thinking about it, but I feel like once I know what it's like, it'll be easier to name. Mostly I want to know what it smells like first, as that will likely play a part in the name. Thus far though, I've been writing all that out on each cup as they go in the tent LOL, so, a name would be nice. Trying to fit all that on a solo cup takes a lot of space haha.
That's pro'byl going to be a badass cross. 👀

Thanks brother :) I hope so :)

So, yesterday I was looking in the tent, and I had a strange feeling. I saw one of the Alpha Skunk Cheese X Cheetos, start to break ground, and, man is that an odd feeling, seeing a cross you did, start to sprout. Most of the seeds have sprouted, other than the ones that were put in more recently. But, yeah, just a quick update, that one of my crosses, has began opening :)

I now have a bit more experience with the Black Cheese I ran this past season, and MAN am I glad I got to pollinate the lowers on her!

I've mentioned this more than once, but that Black Cheese, is like being hit in the head with a sledgehammer if you smoke too early. I pollinated that one, with a male Susie Cream Cheese, so I'm hoping for something good in that mix. I think I have about 30 seeds of that (The male wasn't very big when he started to flower, and though Black Cheese was right behind him, only the lowers got hit) so, should be enough for a look :)

The Alpha Skunk Cheese X Cheetos, are all doing well, and chugging along. Waiting for the day I open the tent to water and get hit in the face with smell LOL.

So far I've put two of the Alpha Skunk Cheese X Cheetos plants outside, asks labeled them "Rotted Skunk Pecker Cheese", and the aroma has been very promising.

#1 smells like a really good representation of the Mother, and #2 .... that one has a very Cheese forward profile thus far. I've still got 3 more in the tent, so I'll see how it goes with those too. Totally a mix of smell when the tent is opened.

Haven't updated this much, other than to post weird ass memes of stuff that probably sounds gross, or as I call it "Breeder Goals" LOL.

So, all 5 of the Rotted Skunk Pecker Cheese I have, are doing very well. I think sometimes I forget to put stuff in this thread, because I'm normally just updating my journal with everything, but this is more or less my "idea" thread, and having some info about what I did might be of use at some point.

5 seeds, and so far I have 3 females for sure, and at least one male. There may be another male but it's not sexed yet. I'm not sure if I'm going to use the Males or not, because that will depend on a few things. I'm not going to actually use a male just because I have it and just because it's a Cheese. I'd like to actually make something special. I think my best chance at that, is to only breed with what I'd consider the best. I can't take less than good stuff and actually expect to find something great out of that, so I won't.

I also have a Velveeta Male outside, and he's a great looking plant. So it appears I've got at least two Males to decide on. If any of them are really nice, and begin to show me what they can do, then I'll start to think about which to keep, and what to use him for. I don't have a permanent tent still, so it's a once and done sort of thing. But I'm OK with that.

The smell and structure will make me look the most, but I'd really like to also see a strong healthy plant that isn't going to fall down every time it rains, which so far, we've had some pretty intense storms, and they have all taken it like champs, so I'm happy about that.

I'm not super surprised the Rotted Skunk Pecker Cheese is handling that part; The Mother, Alpha Skunk Cheese, wasn't even strapped to anything, and after multiple storms, I didn't lose a single branch. She had a REALLY incredible stem and branch structure. Kanzeon admired that about her too, and just how flexible the stem was. I'm really excited seeing how these sort of traits get passed down. I've never actually had that chance before.

Normally I grow my plants, do my thing, and cut them down when they're ready, and no males are normally allowed. But now it's different, and I find myself outside staring at the Males to see which one is doing what, and more importantly to me, I'm seeing how "traits" get passed down.

This learning experience is great. I can read about it all day, but until I run seeds from my selections, it's theoretical knowledge at best. Seeing that 3 of the plants look like the Mom, and two of them, are different from BOTH parents, is very interesting to my mind. I keep watching them, and I'm actually finding myself checking out the growth.

The smell..... Boy... I knew what I was playing with when I did this particular one. But I'm still just amazed at how pungent these are. They have had a legit smell since they were 4 inches tall haha.
