I wish these folks the very best!!
I've wondered why, this was NOT done sooner, since seeds are off the forbidden list now.
I personally had HOPES of driving down to DC (after they opened the cannabis door) to buy seeds from a shop, like I can with flowers and vegetables.

I am wondering if there’s a special tax that they have to charge?

I think there is ALWAYS a bribe to pay, either, local, state, or federal. We added on last year, to our small house. 3 meetings before the planning committee, each one cost us money, then the money/bribes for the permits, then impact fees, then the 7-8 inspections as the work rolled along.
I'm not whining about them, as property owners, we all pay to improve.
