Naa brother not really..Bottom line is this ..Life is to damn short for bland terps ..These days it seems all the plants look pretty amazing..They all have a similar buzz and all get ya feeling right..That leads me to know it would benefit the canna community as a whole to have some in your face nose blasting strains pop up..I was out of my gourd last night. (Outdoor Headsmog). and thats what was on my mind🤷😄

I agree but....there's a lot of buts and I'm sure even more opinions.

What your talking about for the majority is just not going to happen. For example: I grow some purdy good weed, terpy, stinky and all that. I grow alot of strains, I like stinky terps and sticky weed and downright dank 1 puff I'm good stuff but....

for example...

My BIL is my best customer, takes 80% of what I produce. My other customer is just another guy my age, well to do and pays for his next purchase in advance. The bottom line with both of those guys is, weed is just weed as long as it gets the job done well. In other words, the majority of folks just want to get high.
The only real thing they like to know is, is it Happy weed or Night time weed cause at the end of their day they just want the relief the "weed buzz" brings. They don't care that the strain tastes like oranges, stinks like a skunk....they ask "what's the high like?"

I would imagine that's 90% of consumers, then there's the folks like yourself and the many (you know who you all are) that know what's up. That's why I'm here and dig this place cause of all the guys like you. I gave up doing the big forums because it's the 90% I spoke of above are there. I feel honored I get to learn, grow, smoke the knowledge that exists here.

I can't tell ya how many times I have heard "it's just weed"

I try to educate when I can but don't go out of my way unless they care or say they to want to know.

I'll go back to my corner now, lol
 
For me the smell is at least 50% of the enjoyment of weed. The stronger the better. Doesn't matter if its fruity or skunky if it's strong and loud I'll enjoy it. I love the smell of this plant so much, can't imagine a happy life without it. I know heaven smells like weed. I want to know wtf is wrong with snobs that turn their noses up at the smell, miserable people the whole lot.

Don't know why anyone would purposely put pollen on a subpar plant? Does that happen?

Maybe I was guilty in my beginning days of guerilla growing. I'd leave a male standing, and he'd get everything in that spot. Not that I think it matters too much. Two stellar plants may not make stellar babies, I've seen it happen, there's no guarantees.

I always say don't go looking for them. They will eventually come to you.

Smell and taste is the most important part to me a a grower..Fuck dude I haven't smoked ANYTHING that hasn't completely got me blasted in years..I've often thought about growing a strain for personal use that wasn't so damn strong...I got buddies that clue me in to which strains really stand out in the potentcy department...95% of the stuff I grow only gets smoked one time by me..I at least have to try it once and often regret it and go right back to what I love
 
Playing devil's advocate, the same reason the old Skunk strains mostly disappeared still exist for many:
Weed is still illegal in lots of places. As long as people need to hide their habit, there will be a market for weed without strong aromas.

Ya know I went into the year saying I wasn't to make any seeds. I started with 80 plants, find so many good ones I can't help but make a couple seeds. Under 30 total this summer, pretty excited for them though.

Still a little stuck in the mindset I need to make seed for next season, hard to break that mindset. Just started buying seeds the last few years before that it was all stuff that my dad or I made and some bag seed. He had been growing since before I was born. I've actually been thinking about his seeds lately. Couldn't get any to grow the last two seasons. Miss dad more when I don't have dads weed to smoke. I do have stuff from 2020 that I haven't tried that should pop made from his plants he had started when he passed. Need to get back to those soon, they've been on my mind.

One woman I know loves going shopping for weed. It sure isn't because of the quality, stuff she buys is dirt weed imo but she'd rather shop for weed. Neither her brother nor myself can give her weed. She "likes" store bought. Once her and I both sparked a j at the same time, every person there including her agreed my j was way better but I still couldn't get her to take any buds for free. That woman is CRAZY!

At the dispo you have to order off a list of names. At my place you can smell, touch and sample. I just don't get the allure of the dispensary. Not only that but a big % goes to the state, and I can't get behind their use of funds, so I try my best to avoid giving them any.
 
I love the smell and even more the taste of my favorites....may sound strange but I often wish it wasn't so strong so could enjoy more of the flavor..... I have tried but after waking up hours later I realized I should have not tasted so much lol....I have a friend that likes the store bought crap and would say, look it's %30...I tried it, tastes like garbage and nothing strong. I gave him some of mine and well, he hit it hard and was asleep not long after lol. But he still went to the shops...I'll never understand these people.

Ya man peeps love the dam dispo. I tried talking some sensitive to my friend. It's better weed and cheaper. Soooo wtf. He doesn't care smh
 
And I don't know how they cook the #'s but there is no way in hell it's %30 and doesn't even touch me...unless I am missing something...my theory was they tested it, machine trimmed it and knocked off all the trichomes to make other products....but I don't know....just my brain.....side note.....at least around here....it all tastes pretty close to poop. Tbh when people give me some and say try this.....I throw it in the hash pile ...lol...it's nice to be in like minded company, you folks are awesome!
