What kind of cameras are you running today, and sizes of lenses. Quite a few years ago I had a D90 which was pretty sweet at the time, a couple lenses I don't even recall what they were. Looking for some detail for nature oriented pics, along with quite a bit of canna photogery (I made up a word, hehe) I wanted to get into a bit of also.

Almost every clear pic on my thread and my last two POTM winners were taken with a pixel. Exceptional image quality.
No way you got one too!? Makes sense not w lol. ??I ended up getting rid of my iPhone after having a pixel 4. That pixel 4 took better pictures than the damn iPhone12 or whatever it was . I couldn't wait to go back to Pixel. What a huge difference.

When I was a photographer in another life, we used to say, "It's not the wand, it's the magician." Holds true in many endeavors!
I take thousands man from every angle and every different type of lighting I have. You are absolutely right. The more pictures you take, the better you get too ? now I just need to figure out how I can get more gigabytes. Lol

"Shotgun coverage" is what my military photo trainers called that - "Film is the cheapest part of the equation, dumbass!" :ROFLMAO:

I got rid of all my equipment years ago, and use a glorified point and shoot now, albeit one with a Leica lens on it.

It's all about learning how to use what ya got. I can pick up an older cell phone and tweak the settings to really dial it in, and I'll still get a better pic than people just shooting straight from the newest shit. Hold on I'm on mobile gonna grab the chrome book to actually type this out.

As others said its more about the lens than the body of the camera. I just shoot with a simple lil' Canon Rebel T7 (pretty sure the same one in the pic of the link that @BH posted) and a 100mm 2x macro lens for up close stuff, and a 50mm for shooting whole plants and stuff, that really lets you drop the aperture and have a nice depth of field that really accentuates what you're trying to shoot.

Also, I shoot like 100 pics for every 1 usable photo I end up with. On a good day.1000003660.jpgoh yeah, that little 10 dollar trigger there is a godsend. Keeps the camera perfectly still while triggering. And yes that "tripod" is not enough for the weight of the lens haha

Lmao first time I've ever seen Leica referred to so....casually. I'll trade you 3 of my car for that lens.
Well, I think it's prolly "manufactured under the strict supervision of Leica for Lumix," but it does carry the label - not the red dot, though.
Since lenses started being designed and ground by computer, it's getting harder to buy a bad one.
It's sharp enough for me, but was only about a $400 piece.

Dang that's pretty crisp! Not a bad price either!

These are by far the best macros I was able to take. Was a whole afternoon of shooting and squirting water drops and seeing what lined up haha 20221222213550_IMG_6077 (1).jpg20221222215255_IMG_6238.jpg20221222215437_IMG_6277.jpg

Haha so, I really enjoy the process of shooting, editing, etc....I just gotta find something to do with the final products!

I gave some prints of family photos framed I took for Xmas this year. People really liked that.
A nice, personal Xmas gift. I got 1000s of edited images, but rarely get around to hard copies anymore.
Every now and then I take one I don't hate, and on the heap it goes. :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:
