Vgrow Farm

LoboGrow

In Bloom
I had to chop 2 of my 4 tester plants today, as I can't let them go any longer. I currently run a farm of 4 Vgrow boxes and this is the third set of plants growing in them. The first two runs were autos and this run is 2 fems and 2 regs....

Intrigued by these vgrow boxes. What made you go this route. Did you use them in addition to a more traditional setup. Assuming you have to run a pretty short veg.
Actually, I started by buying one box during a sale in February. I Liked how it worked for basic growing of autoflowers, so when 4/20 rolled around and they went on sale for an even better price, I got 3 more that were going to sit in a back bedroom that was also my hobby room.

I bought an ACI Pro 4x4 tent and the same thing with Vivosun 4x4, both when they were on sale. I never got the chance to get the tents setup before my mom passed away and I moved to New Mexico to help out my dad. The tents are in my storage unit, along with a GML light that is unopened, so whenever I get more space, I'll be able to do some of the more traditional tent growing. I've actually got enough equipment for 3 grow tents in storage.

The plan now is to have 8 plants outside this summer, along with my 4 Vgrows which will hit my 12 plant limit.

You've got a plan, you just need to be patient to let it all play out 🍻 thats the important part. Taking care of your parents is hard, is your dad 420 friendly?
Sorry about the nuts but great photography!
Not really, but I printed everything out for him to show what the growing laws are, so he's good with it until the plants are mid flower or so, then he complains of the smell. The Vgrows have a carbon filter, but it can't really handle the odors from flowering plants. I bought new filters for this run, which are a supposed to be an "upgrade" per Vivosun customer service, but we'll see once the other 2 plants get going.

As for the nuts, I was bummed because it's really a plant I wanted to see. I was actually kind of hoping for 1 and 1 to get some seeds, but I've got 4 more and can likely get another batch if needed...

Condolences on your loss. I was curious about the boxes too. Pricing looks like it would save a few bucks for similar quality traditional setup. These would be great for males and housing one inside one of those "extra" tents would give you secondary containment of the pollen (and would do the same for your odor issue). I had been generally dissapointed with vivosun stuff but a couple years ago got one of their dehumidifiers and it has been working great.

Can you change the direction of airflow?

Thank you!

I was thinking they could be used for parents, but never thought about putting it inside another tent. I'm not sure what you mean changing the direction of airflow. There is a fresh air intake on the bottom rear of the box and exhaust at the top.

I'll throw my hat in the ring w/ being disappointed with Vivosun. Had a clip fan go out on me after 2 weeks of use, and getting it returned outside of the free Amazon return window was such a hassle, that it literally wasn't worth the time for the $35 fan. I'm sure they have fine products overall, but I wouldn't trust a grow to their eq without backups on hand.

Those VGrows look really interesting though. The tent in a tent idea is definitely getting stolen I really like. Gives me Early Cuyler truck-boat-truck vibes, and I like it...

November 24 update: The 2 boxes that are idle got cleaned and I remixed the soil for both to get ready for the next seeds. 1 Lola's Psychosis fem tester seed is germinating now and I am waiting on a Luposmaniacs unknown regular seed arriving in the mail this week.

The 2 Lemon Space Fuel fem tester plants seem to be doing okay, but look completely different from each other...

Very nice 👍

It's like watching the HIGHIGAN channel, but with dinky little V-Grow boxes 🤘

Very cool
While I had never really thought too much about the upsides of the Vgrows, one of them is that each plant is on it's own. Even though all the parameters are basically the same, each plant can get it's own medium, nutrient blend, light spectrum and intensity. There are plenty of downsides to these boxes, but some neat upsides as well.

This grow started 12/12 from germination, so it is a bit of an experiment to see how the plants respond. I chose to do this because the height restriction is only 3 feet, so I was proactively stunting the height. I also started at a higher light intensity to suppress stretch. These are my first photos in these boxes and it's been interesting to watch the differences between the plants...

In light of the Mephisto BF deals, I thought I'd show the Tinto De Verano that was harvested back in late September. I thought I had posted it here, but apparently not. I really liked how she grew and she stayed the perfect height with no training other than some early mild leaf tucking.

The other 3 plants I had going in the other boxes got chopped early, as they were having major lockout issues. I used cheap generic coco and didn't properly wash and buffer it as I should have. This was the grow prior to my current plants. The final picture was on harvest day. She yielded just under 4 ounces finished....
