What are these spots?

I reformatted my entire hps/mh grow for cmh in my veg and flower room. Any hood can be used for cmh. As long as you have the proper bulb adapter (mogul socket to cmb bulb afapter). There are also 2 versions of cmh bulbs, one made for open hoods (bare bulb), and one made for enclosed hoods (sealed or a/c hoods).

Make 100000% sure you use the proper bulb for your needs. I know of one instance of a cmh bulb exploding, and dripping hot molten metal on a floor and setting it on fire. This issue is NOT just for cmh bulbs, this can happen to any bulb.

1000w hps get HOT!! I did swap out 4x 315w cmh in air cooled hoods (in a sealed room) for 4x gavita 1650 panels. My ac never stopped running for the 12hrs during lights on. So ripped that sheet out and sold for 30% less than what I paid for them. Used for 1x 12hr cycle. Put the cmh back up and continued on.

Damn bro that's crazy heat production. Molten metal dripping is one of those things I'm not trying to find out about LOL. I can imagine how easy that would ignite pretty much anything it landed on.

The AC not stopping isn't a surprise when you put it like that. Do those have a heatsink like a processor in a computer would ? Seems like you'd need a decent amount of thermal paste, dissipation, and AC just to keep it functional.

Not too sure. I do know I'm still FN upset at all the led bro-science I listened to in the past about those 1300/each panels. I should learned my lesson when I listened to some bro-science asshats about co2 when I first started out running co2 (entire room of fluffy garbage). From then on, I rarely take/heed people's advise, let alone ask for help. I figure sheet out on my own. This way if I fail, I can only tell myself to F-off, and not others.

@hammerhead was the grower at the time over at icmag who had a cmh bulb explode and drip onto his floor and a fire just started. Luckily he was in the room when it happened.

That's a good way to look at it really. There's a LOT of info out there, which is just... ridiculous honestly.
