Hey dudes and dudettes. How's everyone doing on this warmer East Coast morning? I am just posting a little update on the grow. I have been freaking out since last night. I believe I see a little slime or brown mucus starting on some of the roots. I am not 100% sure. As I will be home to update some pictures very soon. I just had the time to write this while at work. I am using HydraGard. As well as the chiller being at to 68. Though this is the first time running the chiller. It seems to kick on when the temp varies by 2'. So at 70, back down to 68. It kicks on a lot during the day. Id say once every 15 to 20 min. Problems. I have an exhaust fan running in the tent. Only issue it exhausts into the same room. I know I know. Dumb. But I have some woodworking to do to get it where it needs to be. I'm going to build a frame on the outside of my window where I plan on exhausting the grow tent and an internal air conditioner. Kinda tee them together. So for the time being, temps in the tent vary from 78 to 86. Not so good. I understand that this is definitely keeping the water warmer than it should be. I've grown DWC before and have had problems with all of this stuff in the past. Being why I have upgraded to where I am now. I plan on getting that window done sometime this week. So hopefully I can keep whatever is coming at me at bay. I know I went all over the place with this post. But that's just me. Anyways. Things to notice about these plants. The serrations are lovely. Definitely an eye catcher. Also I'm noticing the bright pink stems on a few of em. Remind me of watermelon right from the get go. One is definitely smaller than the other 3. I don't think it's the duckbill pheno. Time will tell. Moving right along with these

Looking at your pics of the roots and plants, everything looks pretty healthy to me? Aside from very light root discoloration are there any other signs like funky smells when you open the res? You mention the room temps but what are the actual temps of the reservoirs? Are they holding around what the temp that the chiller is set for?

I need to double check that. I've been pretty trustworthy of my chiller like an ass.After looking again I do think I'm overreacting and it's just nute stain. I can be very hard on myself . My Milwaukee PH meter has a thermometer attachment. I'm gonna check in the a.m. and get back at u. Also added some Southern AG to the pot. Thanks

Temps in my buckets are Gucci. Set to 68, buckets were at 67.1 No smells. Just how it should be. Its definitely stain. My #3 has it and it just looks dyed in a few spots. Thanks for input. Currently running at 250 ppm. Ph is floating around 6.12. Nice cool day over here today so tents sitting at 76 with the flap half opened.

#1 is a bit smaller than the other 3. She has the jaggiest leaves though. Keeping a close eye on her.

since you've run dwc before, there is also hth pool shock as quite possibly the cheapest option to prevent the nasties. and chlorine is a nutrient used by the plant

Is there a tee and tap, on the pressure side, for draining the system ?

Also, is water level/height strictly determined by the total volume in the system ?

No. I bought the stripped down version which was around 700 bucks. The quality version ran 120. Bigger pump, all the bells and whistles. When I drain I just been taking the circulator out and using a big container. The water level evens out on all four buckets. They say these are 8 gallons. But I don't fill all the way.

Update. All plants are topped. Been cleaning and changing res every week. Ppm up to 500. Ph has been staying around 6. Slowly been dropping a few points this last week. I plan on kicking the ppm up to around 750 800 this week. Still just running ProTekt and DynaGro. Hydrogard and SouthernAg. Working on getting them a little better color green. They seem a little light to me.

Had a power outage. Right around 22 hrs off. Nothing I could do. I currently turned timers off and am running 24/7. I have a soil run of some PurplePunch x AnimalCookies that I will be flipping in the next 2 weeks. Hopefully everything will be fine.

Im sure it will be good. Even though lights were off, Im sure roots were in water so they at least got fed in that time.

I have a deep cycle marine battery and an inverter for camping and unexpected power outages. at least can keep a small led on and the airpump
