Amelia does look like a sweety...
Thanks Unc!
I was sitting here after I posted that and its funny how we take little things for granted. I never gave it a ton of thought before but Amelia chose us. She was a stray that just started living under our deck one day. A huge storm was rolling in so we brought her inside. She had a collar and looked super healthy so we put posters up but no one ever claimed her. When we brought her to the vet they said she was about 7 months old, the exact same age as my son, so they assigned her his birthday. They wound up being thick as thieves. Somehow she knew who her person was.
I grew up in what was a rural town at the time (its crazy rich and upscale now) where cats had jobs. They lived in peoples barns and hunted mice and rats. Sometimes they just disappeared, probably on account of coyotes and fishers. People loved their cats but losing them was just a fact of life. Now it feels as bad as losing the dog. Think Im getting soft these days, but I dont think its a bad thing lol.
