Fiona's Chem Cake dried and smoked.

I can't give a completely impartial review due to my taste and smell being about 75% of normal. Also the dry was somewhat less than ideal but I never get ideal so this seems par for course AFAIC.
63 days bloom
Dry time/temp/RH. 9 days/74F/58-50(over the 9 days)
This is the purple pheno. It's been about three or four weeks since cut. I think. Time is meaningless to me lately. Too much going on.

Taste: Chem-lite, doughy spiciness. No hints of fruit/sweet. Burns clean but could benefit from a cure to smooth the draw a bit.

Smell: There wasn't a great deal during flower. The general overall smell is a doughy-spice with an underlying chem-y fuelness but it's subtle. It comes out more in the taste.

High: (from a clear head) The first three puffs brought nothing. I was beginning to feel a bit of a head change by puff six. I put the cone out after 2/3 was gone.
In the four 4.5 hours it's taken me to post this, I'm still good. This one was creeper weed for sure

1-gallon, Promix, GH Floranova[heavy chart], 11/13, LED
Grow Level: Easy - These were grown out of the corner of my eye, spending most of their flower time on the edge of the light or in a corner, only receiving "ggod" light the last couple weeks.
Yield of both the green and purple phenos was 98 grams.

Definitely not going to knock the reigning champs down but there was nothing that I didn't like, Nice structure, buds dense af, pleasant smoke and gnarly high.

6.8/10 would definitely explore this breeder further. Great job guys!

Hey bro, I have one that I took a picture of today, which has color, and I've got one that's green, have you tried the green? The structure on it is a bit different but you can totally see that bud production remains high from how it's growing. I haven't gotten to try it yet but when my #2 female lost her top I legit didn't tie anything off cause I just won't be that mad if a small branch snaps off and I can finally try it lol!

No, I haven't.... I've got so many differnt strains... and I was kinda stuck on the Purple Caper Mac Cookie for a minute but it's gone.

I'll fish some of the green pheno out and see how it goes... report back later

Fiona's Chem Cake - Green pheno smoke report

Same deal, Raw cone to the dome.
This pheno smelled better in flower than the purple one. It also had bigger flowers and yielded about 2 gms more than the purple pheno, maybe 3-4 since I lost a low branch halfway through.
Neither of these phenos was a real stinker during flower and what I didn't burn off during dry might be the least desirable terps.
Keep in mind this last run came to a screeching halt. Bud quality was affected by that and the high humidity I couldn't get rid of[I wasn't draining some of the pots as much as I should have and developed a puddle under the tray thing that comes with the tent}
However.

Smell: The green pheno was much more appealing/loud than the purple during flower with subtle tones of chemy dough and like a sweet skunky spice with hints of mint. Real light on the skunk though and I missed it until it was pointed out to me. That said, this green pheno is rather boring when put next to her purple sister. Nothing unpleasant for sure but again, not knocking any champs down.

Taste: The taste parallels the smell, moreso than the purple pheno which was more doughy and spicier on the inhale. my exhale is fvcked except for loud strains otherwise everything that comes back out tastes like smoke.

High: I took down 2/3 of this cone as well. The onset was a lot quicker with a nice head change at 2 puffs. I was going to put it out at six but went the whole 2/3.
The high is uplifting and energetic while still having a slight calming effect. The duration is not as long as the purple pheno and I puffed the remaining third about 2 hours later. I like the effect of this one more than the purple albeit they are very similar.

Final thoughts: Ultimately, I win. These were courtesy of @Hitch and they filled space that otherwise would have been unused. It took a while to get around to working them into the rotation but they did fantastic waiting it out under low light in the backseat. While I'm not blown away, there's nothing I don't lie about either phenos. The duration of the purple with the high of the green and the only thing to work on would be finding the flavor. Maybe it's there and I don't see it after being sick[twice since 2019 I've lost my smell and taste.]

The structure on both was nearly identical and I'd say on average, a heavy oz/gallon which is what I tend to aim for. I would definitely run the purple pheno again but overall they are both decent smoke. No problems with two weeks of stupid humidity either so that's a big plus.
I'd give the green pheno a straight 6 to the purple pheno's 6.8
Again, very nice work @JGG and @Bubby's n da lab, I can't run anything else from you rn but I'll definitely be cheerleading from the sidelines.

Your observations are similar to mine. I agree with you on the flavor not being a big hit in all phenos. I enjoyed the darker cake n chem leaner more.

We've paired an fcc with an @Amos Otis creamy greases for some fems that are a couple weeks out. That should add something in the flavor department.

Man I'm glad you're able to do these with the smell and taste problems you're having, which I hope clear up for you :)

I've noticed my green plant has a VERY .... Cake like smell ? I tried to describe it better a while back as it was not unlike spiced Vanilla Frosting maybe ? I haven't checked the Purple one in a bit as, at this point... Every plant out there is in flower and the smell coming off all those strains, it's hard to really pin down what smells aren't bleeding in from another plant LOL.

Can't wait to finally try this myself :)

Ohhhh that's gonna be interesting !!! I also "heard" that you guys have or had a Cheesequake as well..... If that happens I'm waiting with hard nipples..... I mean.... Open ears :)

@Psychobilly yeah, the "cross contamination" from other strains gets me sometimes. I can see the spiced vanilla. Vanilla always throws me off a bit because my mind immediately goes to something like vanilla ice cream rather than extract. The Birthday Cake 16 had a strong vanilla-y frosting smell during flower but that fades to a strong skunky vanilla at about week 7. I also tend to associate vanilla with "sweet" and there is nothing sweet about these FCC's, much heavier on the "spice" part.


@JGG my pleasure. I need to get some Brisco's under my belt soon. DJ's Flo got me to DCSE but Brisco was the impetus for me wandering off my shoddily laid plans to explore other things like him, Freak, 3thirteen, and Copa. Definitely looking forward to running more of your gear in the future.

I enjoy having some kick when a strain has a sweeter smell which makes waiting a lot harder lol.

I'm very much looking forward to trying both my phenos out :)
