Gonna be compiling my journey into Ethanol extraction using everclear and a source turbo from extract craft, so far I've aquired the following equipment all through amazon

2 350 ml buchner funnels
Size 3 (25to45m) and 5 frit (5to15m)
11 micron filter papers
1000ml Erlenmeyer flask
500ml Erlenmeyer flask
Celite 545(for polishing and AC removal)
Activated Carbon ( for removing chlorophyll aka green)
And my source turbo will work 3 fold
1. as vac source for my buchner setups
2. As my distillation system
3. As a vac purge system

My first attempts at doing this were with the most basic materials I could source, everclear, unbleached paper coffee filters, a reusable plastic coffee filter, some Mason jars, a funnel, home chest freezer, and a pyrex dish.

I froze my buds and trim for 24 hrs along with the Mason jars and the everclear, I washed 14 grams of marble sized bud in a mason for 3 mins with a gentle swirl at each 1 min mark then quick filtered through the re-usable coffee filter into a clean mason. This jar then went back into the freezer for another 24 hours for "winterizing" before getting filtered through a paper coffee filter inside a canning funnel(fits the Masons perfect). This took about 20 mins to filter 400ml or so of loaded Ethanol, I then poured the final filtered wash into the pyrex to evaporate the Ethanol off, a day later and about 10 mins scraping the dish I had about 2.8gs of nice honey colored pull n snap, was very potent but honestly tasted like hot nasty swamp ass ???. I believe it was a combination of 2 things that caused my product to be so lacking, 1 the wash temps just needed to be colder, and 2 the flower was not the best quality(good in good out). t
The winterization was also a total fail, anything I froze out went back into solution during the extended slow filter process.

I’ve made “RSO” with Everclear and trim but the taste is just ? so I mixed it with a lil coconut oil and made some caps. Problem is I’m too scared to try them because I’m not sure how strong they are. I have 3 batches of varying strength based on the amount of coconut oil. One of these days i’m going to do an experiment to test the strength. Your setup is fancy tho so I’ll be watching

I do something very similar, and I agree with the swamp ass flavor profile. The process basically kills any terps.

Jar of whatever fine nugs im going to run. Put in freezer. cold cold cold
Got a gallon of everclear in the freezer, you just need enough to cover the material in your jar...cold cold cold
Think of this like hash, get it fucking cold.....real fucking cold...it will reduce the amount of chlorophyll thats pulled in a fast wash 2-3min swishing 2-3 times gently.
The harder you mix the more you will pull from your material, some of it you dont want though
You can run multiple washes, again very similar to hash.
I also use a buchner funnel at this step with 22u quantitative filters.
I moisten with ethynol the filter i put in the buchner to make sure a seal is created
pour contents of jar through strainer into the buchner.. apply vacuum.
Whats left on top of the filter is some of the fats/lipids...used for cosmetics and soap making
This flask now goes to the freezer for 24 exactly like Gweedo
Again out of the freezer through a 22u quantitative filter of a buchner. Here is another place we differ..I dont do crc. not knocking it just never tried it.
When i take my flask out of the freezer, I throw it on a hotplate stirrir 140F, throw a magnetic rod inside run ~900-1000rpm evaps quickly and evenly
at this poing ~70% evap some take it off and put in your pyrex with parchment. Much easier than scraping. Purge in vacuum
I also have taking this to total evap, well as close to total I could get this way, set temp to 230F for decarb (edibles), watched for the bubbles co2 being released as THCA loses its acidic form.

I would never put anything solvent based in a cartridge unless the solution has been distilled/rotovap'd (I guess the source is doing ethly reclamation, purge does not get out everything). I woudn't want to vape residual solvents though. No matter how insignificant.

Im old fashioned i guess, i take my decarbed tinture in a shot glass.
I decarb a couple oz's of good flower and soak in 750 ml of home made shine or everclear works in a pinch.
Let that sit a couple weeks, vacum filter, reduce to about 500ml and wallah!
A full shot is 2 tbs. The first 1/2 hour is a shine buzz/rush then a nice 4 hours or so of smooth sailing then around hour 5 it starts to get heavy everywhere for a couple hours then a steady body stone for the rest of the night.
I love an old family remedy.

Ive done this ..maybe not quite to the T but your right..down the hatch and away you go...I cleaned out some good earll with some everclear...reduce that , proof'd it and shot it...I woke up still lit the next morning ..lol
