(before you read this , I wasn’t being directive towards the breeder, just the whole seed standard price , I don’t know that breeder in anyway )
look at veggie AG AND FLOWER AG when they spend crazy hours on testing, lab testing, seed protection and guratee germ and the seed packs are normally like 50-300 + pack for 4-10 bucks. Cannabis needs to get off the prohibition blind mindset and try to be competitive or these “breeders” won’t sell shit. At least not to me, i will only buy em if they have “promo” days cause the prices are way too crazy for a plant seeds and they don’t do the same level and guidelines as big ag and can’t even sell as many seeds. I mean come on , 10-50 bucks a seed? Lol
alot of seeds in even veggie side they have to put “protection on , aka like fungicides “ look at potatoes . Without doing this , you would have a huge chance of late blite ( that’s what killed a million at that time since all the potato farmers since they couldn’t grow them ) I tried to grow a potato without fungicide once. It grew, than died of blite , lol and very young too

you can buttercup all you want but I can see some breeders in the future making it 20-50 bucks standard and making this crazy 50 buck min and then no one will accept it inless It’s some “unicorn”. Np with that ( right now everything “is” and priced way to high)

I don't think he was trolling, he did say he wasn't targeting this particular breeder but rather the whole cannabis seed economy. Though I would agree a breeders thread probably isn't the place to have that conversation. I could launch into a discussion on supply and demand and how the veggie seed industry has a way bigger customer base so it's a poor comparison.

And that's the decision all small businesses need to make... how much do I need to charge for it to be worth it. It's a question I ask myself everyday for my business, and I get questioned by customers all the time... I try not to take it personally.

Market usually bears it all out. I've paid 250 for beans and 35 for beans. All about specifics. If its something I want I'll pay for the access. Have to remember in our community just having access is worth a premium to some of us.
Perfect example is that damn G13 cut. I want it badly enough to pony up dumb money. Others may see price tag and laugh it off as ridiculous but I know that's the market for this particular cultivar so I'm in.
All about choices, take it or leave it. If product doesn't move price gets cut. Product sells out quickly price may go up. Sells consistently price remains roughly the same. Market will tell.
