This is one of the biggest plants I've ever seen in a 1 gallon. I'm going to get easily over 2 oz off of this thing and that is not normal for me by any means

sure it didn't snow in your room over night ? great trichome developmet - do you use anything special for development (some use Terpinator, Purpinator,ect but they are chenical) be nice to be a "taster" for this strain WOW 1 gallon pot --- going have to reduce pot size myself (4.5 gal) so I can run double the strains - in one room 3 -4.5 gal, 1- 4gal, 2 -3gal and 1 - 1gallon with an auto. how long do you veg before flower ? 3 weeks (+) some top at week 3 and then flip - wonder how big a plant you would get?

Yeah that was probably a 3-week veg. Andi top very early like when they're in solo's still. And that was given flower girl throughout flower and one treatment of re charge

Had to make some adjustments in the grow room . Mostly due to cold . Put the hps (400) back into the 4x4 with the 350r till spring. Temps are perfect now , I always forget just how much radiant heat these hids give off . Went from 72 to 84 at canopy. Also have the new Hlg 200 one the 3x3 with the clw solar system 275 and i I have good numbers in there as well . Things are starting to go smoothly again. Lol always something tho

So yesterday I switched to hid fir more heat in my big tent . I have a 600 u can turn down to 250 . Thought it was running a bit hot and woke up to this . Not sure what to learn from this myself other than be careful. I turned the ballast to 250 and thought we were good to go.

Woh that looks scary and potentially lethal . This might sound stupid and I know prevention is obvious but is it worth putting smoke detectors in or nearby a tent or room ?

Man you are extremely lucky. This is what happens when the industry cheaps out with all this Chinese crap. From 2009 to 2014 we literally witnessed companies sell out as the industry cut manufacturing jobs and inundated the market with foreign made trash...

Then on top of that, they tried cutting corners, not only in materials but in design because gardeners are cheap as shit and always looking to kill two, three or four birds with one stone... Hence the dimmable ballast. I refused to sell them. Seems like a slick idea but its not. Bulbs (HID's specifically) are designed to burn at their rated wattage, that means you cant be burning a 1000w at 600w power and expect it to be doing its job correctly. Add into that the fact that the parts and material quality has taken a huge dive and a lot of this crap is a recipe for disaster.

I highly recommend if you guys are buying these HID set ups that are no name, chinese shat, that you check your connections at you moguls (where you had your issue) and keep an eye on your stuff. Also make sure your bulbs are clean and screwed in properly so they dont arc. I never recommended HID's in tents, not without buying reliable brands, and generally I like to see them in aircooled fixtures but Hell, what's even a reliable brand when almost everything is made by underage commie labor?

Same , and I agree, I pride myself on buying good product. This was good reviews too and lasted me a while. I still have no idea what happened.

I am glad you caught it quick. I am a survivor of a house fire. They are no fun.

Were ya trying to light the bulb at the 250w setting?
These dimmable ballasts are only designed to fire at full wattage and then get turned down after heating up.
Maybe thats what shorted it?!

Damn that’s scary @Frimpong glad your ok, I had an experience with a viviosun inline fan years ago, came home from work and could here a loud buzzing noise ran to my room and it was locked up just humming I went to unplug it and the cord was melted to the outlet, I panicked instead of cutting the power I took a wire cutters and cut the live wire grabbed the fan cause it was smoking and burned my hands on it, cause I was carrying it outside the whole inside of the fan was glowing red. Now I have a weekly checklist I make sure all my stuff is good. Sorry I rambled but glad your ok man ??

Oy that's scary af! Looks like el cheapo wiring on the hood was the problem here.

Once the industry switched from magentic ballasts to digital ballasts, I lost all interest in HID. Way too many reports of people having these types of scares, or worse. My old magnetic ballast is 30 years old, but I'd trust it over any of today's digital ballasts. Plus they're fairly easy to maintain if needed.

Frim convinced me to switch from 3gals to 1gals. Being able to run more, but smaller plants is a boon to keeper hunting. Veg time for me varies due to a lot of things like were they topped, have the plants clones rooted yet, waiting on free space in the flower room, etc. If you want quick, flower 12" clones in 1gal pots and skip any topping.
