Already posted this on our other journal, however we wanted to have one strictly for our auto flowers so it doesn't get mixed up. We started soaking 930am on the 25th. Paper towels at 930am yesterday and this morning, I am happy to announce we had a 100% germination rate! We will be getting them underneath the light tonight. More updates will be later on.

Peace, love and high vibes!

We got them all in soil and under the 100w QB at 30% and about 40 inches above them. Each seedling was dusted with great white. Auto fems are in 2 gallon grow bags. We cut 2 inches off of the tops of the grow bags to save on soil just a bit. I did purple biscauto this way and she turned out great. Auto regs are in the solo cups. I've transplanted a few autos and so far I haven't had any issues. Again, I use great white on the root ball and handle them very very gently. It's weird, the few i've transplanted turned out better than the ones I started in their final pots. These will stay in the closet for the next month or so and when the photos are done they'll be transferred down to the 4x4 and finished under the 600w hps. We've never grown autos with HID lighting so this should be fun. We're going to use a 20/4 light cycle so I know the 600w will have to be dimmed a bit. Too much light intensity for too long of a duration makes for some sad autos lol. Here's the first pic. Let's hope for some nice, dense, beautiful flowers and not a sack o larf lmao! ☮☮ 20211027_210657.jpg

All of the seedlings are up and green. We lost one Bobberberry. The stem turned purple before the shell came off and that usually means death in my garden. Sure as shit I took the shell off and it was rotten inside. No biggie, we still have two. Glue sniffer and Knows candy have mutant leaves, all the others look as they should. Average temp is 76 and humidity between 50-65%. I'll post pictures when they get bigger and we'll do two weekly updates every week until harvest. We're not expecting much from this but hopefully we will be pleasantly surprised in 80 days or so.

First pic of them up and green. A bit stretchy because this QB is not a good light for seedlings. They are growing though and doing good. They got their first feeding yesterday.

1 gram/ gallon veg+bloom dirty
1 gram/ gallon Myco+

The solo cups got 100ml and the grow bags got 200ml

Im doing things different this time. I usually wait until week 3 to feed but this soil has very little nutrients so I'm going by the feeding instructions and starting right away with a weak feed. Until we get our water filtration system we'll still be using distilled water. Our tap water has gotten even higher ppm since the last time I tested it in may, 223 ppm! Can't use that shit, I will barely drink it lol.

This is day 3.

My Autos are about the same size and same quantity. Battle of the Autos . Game on ???

We liked the way the purple biscauto looks, smells and grows so we decided to soak 2 beanz of it and add it to this round of autos. We grew the last one on 12/12 and want to see their full potential on 20/4. Hopefully we get a purple pheno out of the two.
After growing Autos now on both 12/12 and 24 I’m not sure there was a noticeable difference in yield / quality .
Im still working Autos out and am by no means an expert but both light schedules have produced good solid results ??‍♂️.
The 12/12 grow actually finished earlier than the 24

I guess it all depends on the strain and the phenos within those strains on how fast they will finish. We're still working autos out too and we have a long way to go until we have some of the huge potent auto yields that we've seen out there. We're going to use bigger pots on these than the other one we grew. It was in a 1.5 gallon mylar grow bag, these will be in 3 gallon felts. So far we're off to a good start and they're all healthy little sprouts. I know that can change in an instant though with autos. I read an article somewhere and it said anybody can grow autos, they're for beginners etc. They even said it's the next tomato, everybody wil be growing them on their balcony once it's federally legal. They are definitely not for beginners. The only things that makes growing them easy is them not needing a certain light cycle and not being affected by light leaks. Other than that they can be super finicky and one mess up depending on when it happens can cost ounces and quality. Another thing I noticed is that the ruderelis trait shows up in some strains and they always end up being weak and cbd dominant. It happened to a trizzlers and 3 whiskey zulus. I had to turn them all into butter. Everything else was pretty tasty and strong especially Moscas cantaloupe kush.

I agree with your sentiments . I’ve only been growing them a couple years and I think I’ve hit just about every error you can in that short time .
My best advice is prepare well from the beginning and mess with them as little as possible. If you get it wrong in the beginning good luck with adjustments during its short cycle . You’ll end up salvaging what’s left .
Good luck with this grow . I’ll be watching on ??

So I agree with you statement a little bit… I think they are for beginners who do some research first. Even growing a tomato you should know a little bit what to look for and as long as you do it’s gravy… the whole an auto in every home like a tomatoe is more a dream I think not a reality not everyone is suitable to even grow succulents which live a year without water lol. So ppl definitely have to research a little and learn from mistakes. Autos are for the ppl who want to water and forget it. As long as you water or feed them nothing else needs done really. Everything else is extra. With autos I found my biggest yoelds come from leaving them so their thing and keeping my lights higher to allow a bit more stretch.

I personally started out with autos the same time I started growing photos so I learned them at the same time. The ppl I see who seem to struggle the most are the seasoned growers who are so used to their photos taking abuse amd snapping back that they don’t realize an auto doesn’t grow like a photo. The first month of an autoflowers life is what is gonna decide yiur yield in the end… sounds dumb right but it’s true. If you over water, underwater, feed too much or start messing with it too soon it can effect yield. Now of your not worried about pulling a QP from an auto and ur good with 2oz per plant then pretty much anyone can do that now a days.

Also the best place I have found for advice is dr.autoflower, mr.grow it (only some of his) and growcast and other podcasts. Hone in on the autoflower talks. I been growing autos for two years always having at least one going ajd i have learned more in the last 6 months listening to them snd practicing what they preach and it has changed my auto game big time. I always had good bud to smoke but I pulled 5oz off a plant I could never get more then 2 off of before. Just by doing a few things they said.

Another thing I did wrong was think they needed to be blasted with the same intensity light as photos. After 16 hours every plant would start to droop so their last 4 hours they would be pissed and the 4 hour dark cycle wasn't long enough for them to recover. Lights came on and the next day was the same. I lowered the cycle to 18/6 thinking it would fix it but they still spent 2 hours droopy and pissed. I decided I was definitely doing something wrong so I did some research and found that with autos it's more about duration rather than intensity when it comes to lighting so a lower wattage light or one with a dimmer should be used. So I was overfeeding and hitting them with way too much light then a couple months ago I find out that plants like temps in the 80s with leds not the 70s. My first auto grow was between 70-75 degrees lights on so they stunted like crazy. Now that I know what I know, this auto run will be much better..... unless ruderelis shows its dominant face in one of these strains. I swear the huge whiskey zulu that we just grew had the potency of some legal hemp. Right next to it grew a cantaloupe kush auto that knocked my socks off lmao.

I do what’s called progressive lighting. Idk if this is a real term or not.
Here is the basics of what I do with my LEDs. Remember every plant is different and some react to light intensity fine while others need the following.

seedling-25% power @ 15-25in above canopy (25-75watts)
Early veg- 35-40% @ 15-25in above canopy (40-80watts)
Veg- 50% (100-150wats) @ 15-20in

I know some ppl will say why would I have my light turned down and so high up, well I have noticed with autoflowers thsy they don’t mind a little less light and they also seem to get bigger and have higher yield when I let them stretch out a bit more.

PREFLOWER- 50% slowly adjusting up a little more every day watching what they can handle @ 12-15in
Flower- 100% I personally blast the hell out of my plants the last month-month nd a half. And they seem to love it. But here is where I will play with my height. At first I keep them at 12-15” however if they are doing fine I will slowly lower them little by little until about 6-10” above my canopy.

I do this with both my autos and photos however my photos can normally handle bit more aggressive schedules. My autos I have to do as above or else they don’t get strong enough to handle the light at full power. If blasted to hard with light I have seen my plants suffer big time in yield and flower quality.

I don’t know the exact science behind it but I do know that it works when I do this progressive thing. It’s kind of like hardening off the plant before taking it outdoors in my mind.

I soaked two purple biscauto beanz last night around 11. I put them into a paper towel at noon today with a sprinkle of great white on them like I always do and set them on the cable box. Just a few minutes ago I checked them for the first time and they both have lil tails popping out. This year has been so good with germination rates for us. I'll take a pic in the morning when the tails are longer. ☮☮

I completely forgot about the seed pic but both purple biscautos are up and green. There's some germination magic in this house lol. Almost every bean we get wet pops.. Only 2 didn't germinate all year so far. This is day 1 for the 2 PB's.

All of the other seedlings are doing great. The auto regs in the solo cups are growing the best, very vigorous. Glue sniffer and cantaloupe kush are runty but healthy.

Day 12 so it's transplant day for the 5 auto regs in the solo cups. We'll wait until after their 4 hour semi dark cycle. I have to keep the closet door slightly open so it doesn't get too humid which allows some low light in. These are autos so it shouldn't be an issue. We only have a tbsp of great white left, it should be just enough to give each little root ball a little. We can finally cover their stretchy stems with dirt lol. The closet is gonna be jam packed. Hopefully we can still fit the fan. If not we'll figure it out. We're adding another 100w QB to the right side so there will be a nice even par level in there. We will have them both set at 40%. After transplant we'll water them in with 400ml of distilled water with the recommended feeding for seedlings with the veg+bloom dirty and myco+. When the 2 purple biscautos are ready to be transplanted they will be top fed with the Aurora innovations dry nutrients Grow and Foundation. They will be getting the other parts of their dry nutrient line as the grow progresses. The 2 that we've decided to top are a bobberrberry and a trizzlers x whitebread. This is all for the sake of science. After this autoflower grow we will know what works best for us for autos and we'll stick with that from there on out. The fun is about to begin.

I took some rso, smoked a couple bowls and decided it was not the night to transplant lmao. I gave them a touch of water to keep them happy until the a.m. then I'll very carefully give them bigger shoes. This is my first time using organic dry nutes and top dressing so any pointers, especially using with autos would be highly appreciated. Im using promix all purpose so it's basically soil less and i've only given them a starter amount of nutrients which they've already used so the nutrient slate is clear. I hope this works because it'll make feeding a lot easier on us bad back folks lol.

Im so baked I originally posted this in the wrong thread lol

I discovered that the little bit of great white we had left was rock solid so had to order more. I never transplant autos without it so tomorrow when it gets here it'll finally get done. It works out good though because i've been sick as a dog all day. One of the kids probably brought something home. It's one of those bugs that comes in waves. Feel ok for a bit then like shit for awhile. The seedlings are doing great though so one more day won't hurt. I'll give them a small drink with some myco+ added here soon. 16369354237504986820328774181021.jpg 16369354771783880887989678372566.jpg
