This toque is pretty cool, smoother look than a knit
That is a genuine Canuck block-heater. Double-walled, micro-knit.
For me,,,that depends on how cold it is. If I install them conventionally- my dreads will Gap out the bottom, and the wind will blow up my skirt. When it is this cold outside I have to bend over and pile all of my dreads on top of my head. I get a tighter fit around the hat band, but it does not leave enough real estate to require a fold.
But,,,Yeah, typically a fellow will pull it on, until it bottoms out, then fold up over the eyebrows. This makes for a tight seal around the ears.
Why the detailed explanation? Because it makes the logo placement vital. Sometimes they will put a crest inside the toque, at the bottom. This requires the bottom to be folded up, in order to make the crest visible. I have a couple Toques like that- and I cannot wear them. They are not deep enough to fold up and the crest . This leaves the patch on the interior, and it scratches on my hairline all day.
That was the motivation behind placing the crest where I did. Folded or unfolded the graphic remains visible.

A Toque (and my mother) taught me my first lesson in Pride.
With so many siblings, the last kid to leave for school got Slim Pickens for headgear.
My mom scraped the bottom of the barrel and came up with a hat. "I cannot wear that , it is Pink", I protested.
Her reply has stuck with me, all of these years later.
"A pink toque is better than black ears"
Being the stubborn child that I was, the Hat was off my head and in my pocket before I got off the property.
But she was right, not even a full block later and that pink toque back on my head.
