Seedfinder.eu

okay I was able to poke around it a little bit on the laptop, it looks much nicer on there. my only complaint is in the lineage chart, if my mouse ends up over it while i'm scrolling with my fingers, it just enlarges/shrinks the image instead of continuing to scroll. Other than that the new site does look pretty awesome. Gonna take a minute of navigating to figure it all out.

I just tried to search a strain name and nothing, so I think I'm good to go or it's malfunctioning. Either way, hate the new look.
The search functions on alot of sites are really weak.
This site is an exception, search works pretty well. Alot don't.
Maybe that's changed more recently and the built in search functions work better

I used to use Google and add site: followed by the site you want to search).
Worked great. Used to do it on RIU all the time.

I officially no longer use seedfinder, it's the last resort now sadly.
When you do searches, as I've discussed with others and agreed, it is less like a database now which was it's purpose.
Results are spaced out, you have to do a lot more scrolling and the biggest gripe, data that's missing, some people are really mad cause they input hundreds of strains into that.

Someone said their selling out and going the strainly route, I don't know what to think the site just sucks now. Their putting to much focus into remaking their lineage map I feel.

But it sure looks clean and fancy- times must change i guess

It would help if they also updated the lineages of the many things taken as gospel but proven to be false over and over for the future gens! Otherwise it’s nice to see it updated, even though some of us got beyond accustomed after twenty years of the same old format .

Tbh u can’t expect that website to update every single breeders and strain itself. it’s like wiki for info. U gotta take it based on the submitter

what i did like is their strain list once selected on breeder and their lineage map part on website and once people do use their info sheets/template u can def make it worthy, seedfinder can’t fill that in . The breeder now can def use their template and fill all it in . Issue I also see is 90%+ of even breeders for clones or seeds have no info itself and u expect the breeder than to do it on that website? I know if it was me I would def have a good story, info on strain and growing tips. It’s just sad u see so many breeders selling 100+ per 5-10 seeds packs but zero info and grow tips. So I honestly don’t see it’s seedfinder issue vs breeder not willing to fill it in? If the strain is unknown how do u expect that to be filled in ?

i think their website is easier to navigate to views breeders and their list of strains in it and def helps. No arguments I just think it’s more or less breeders fault even before this upgrade they wouldn’t fill anything in.

I feel i may have been a little too negative saying it sucks and "officially", just liked it better before and was pretty disappointed initially. I wont never use seedfinder again, it's still useful when other sites arent and still has a lot of data. So I just wanted to add this - cause I really do care to see it thrive again and be like a hybrid of the simplicity/structure their going for and what it was in terms of a database + all the things mentioned. but its difficult for me to find the breeders tab i have to use google, hopefully a work in progress still :) didn't mean to be so rash, I don't want to sway others away

I think you were 100% spot on with your initial comment.
I'll admit that I too am still accustomed to the original format but as you mentioned they have a bunch of missing pics/info/notes etc. for a lot of breeders that I know was there before.

I hadn't used it that much before the change, but the first time I landed there after the change, I panicked thinking their site or my browser got hijacked and was currently powering its way through alltheviruses.com. After looking around and realizing that they'd just changed the place up, I relaxed a little bit, but like most everyone, didn't like the change. After using it a bit more, I don't hate it, layout wise, but I don't have enough familiarity to judge missing content. I kinda like the new lineage chart looks wise, which is one of the features I use the most on the site, but I share Dino Party's scrolling woes with it.

I've been leaning on seedfinder pretty heavy the last few months just to keep up with the discussions about this strain, that cut, those seeds and the other 10 years of shit I missed. So, I'd be interested to hear if the missing info shows back up eventually. Hopefully it's just a hiccup in the transition, and not a 'we had to bring in a backup db cuz we borked the production db fucking around on a live site' situation.

I like it to see whats in something that is ready when the pollen is ready.

And to see why does this doob taste like it does... etc.

EU seed finder has been great for me to have an idea if something might work or not...because of similar parentage.

I also use ALLBUD... whatever it takes to see where it come from and why...for example does this citrus milf taste NOTHING citrus.

Neapli OG leaner that finished at 70 days... WOO HOO

Starting from the top. SensiNL and Mass Super Skunk were paired. Offspring from that was mixed with chemdog. Call that Original Diesel.

Moving to the bottom, we have a three-way tie. I used to assume that was purposefully ambiguous. Denoting three P1's, in an unknown arrangement.
That explanation does not wash in this case. This tree in particular is from Crockett's. I'm certain they use their own Tangie in that cross.
Typo, or glitch ?

Yeah, that lineage looks pretty shaky.

The old format was better imo. Had a lot more info, and was easier to skim through vertically instead of this zoomable tree style. Fwiw, RQS bought seedfinder at some point, and they've clearly adjusted some lineages to suit their needs and seed sales. Was a great site for what it was, but now not as much so.
