I have one kid. He'll be 16 soon. Autistic, but brilliant. He’s a sophomore now, and since 2nd grade, I’ve never seen a 'B' from this kid. All A's. This year he has four honors classes, next year he starts the early college program. He'll graduate high school with his Associates. I tell you all this not to brag (though I am proud) but only in an attempt to somewhat talk about his worthiness for what’s about to follow.

So his school does an abroad trip every year. In Summer 2025, they are going to the Alps and Mediterranean coast. They do this whole freaking time share type presentation and I’m waiting for it to get to the bottom line. Well it floored me lol. I kind of walked out. We aren’t folks with that kind of extra.

Then it started eating at me. Why doesn’t my kid get to go? So I called my ex wife and we decided screw it. He’s earned it.

To that end, I asked for permission to share a link to his funding page. The admins generously agreed. (Thanks for checking @Gentlemancorpse). I don’t have a large group of friends and family to draw from, so I appreciate it.

If any of you guys have a buck or two, I (and my kid) would be eternally grateful. Every five or ten bucks helps, it doesn’t have to be anything big! Also, I have almost 2 years. Maybe now isn’t good and later is better. That’s awesome too. The page will be there until it’s paid.

As of this morning, phenohunter has contributed $1,315 to Steve's trip. That’s 29%.

That much in one day? Absolutely incredible and heartwarming.

Instead of buying a material possession for his son, @Hitch planned out what would surely be a life changing experience that will last him a lifetime. He just needed a little help to make it happen, and I am amazed at how much our community helped raise in such a short amount of time. This made my day.

Well I suppose quite a bit had been raised by the mention in my journal. However, this was a very kind, additional gesture by Deebs, that was unexpected and greatly appreciated. I really don’t have the proper words. Thank you seems insufficient. Eternally grateful is more like it.

Yes he did.

Gosh man, I guess I’m not sure. It’s a form to put in credit card info. I would think if your card issuer allows foreign transactions, you’d be fine.

But I truly do not know.

The thought is very appreciated man. 👊

Our awesome and incredible community
at work. @Deebs is quite certainly the man. Hoping your son takes it all in. His dad planned this far in advance for him to experience smth very special which will stick w him for the rest of his life and possibly shape who he becomes.

Yes sir, things are coming along. I’ve made a couple monthly payments since I last posted and I’m down to about $2,550 remaining. No new donations or anything, but there is still a year and a half to go. I am thinking that Christmas should yield some family contributions.

The fact is that the huge dent phenohunter members and staff made to begin with has lowered my monthly payment from 250 something to $151 per month, and that’s been huge for me.

I’m still very grateful and thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. If I haven’t sent a personal thank you for a donation, it’s only because I didn’t know who some of the more anonymous donations were. But I thank you here and now.
