Hello all, have 9 skunk no 1. and 10 purest indica sprouted on march 21st making them 20 days old at time of posting.

Not 100% sure but i may do seed run on this doing skunk outside and purest indica inside.

May also wait till i can afford a larger amount of seeds for each and run the most genetic material possible for preservation.

The one with the thermometer in pot is a santa muerte clone.everything left of that is purest indica everything right of it is skunk

Anyone with any advice on whether a seedrun with this amount of plants is worth is or not (from a genetic preservation aspect)please chime in.

Thanks, cjs3js21

It's worth it. My first breeding project was done inside a tent that is 3 feet tall by two feet by two feet, and the plants were flowered out in solo cups, and I still got a decent amount of some of the plants I pollinated.

My advice, would be to look through each plant you popped, and select whichever ones have the traits you're interested in, so that you have the best chance of those genetics being passed on. You only need one good male to take care of pollinating however many females you get, so you can be pretty selective with this, and only go for what you are after in results. I mean, even if you only get a few females that you find worth while, you can always clone those good females, and have way more plants to pollinate.

Thanks i appreciate the advice.

Admittedly not sure if ill cull anything or not,i think if i did itd have to exhibit some really poor growth patterns or something. My fear with culling is that overtime ill cause too much genetic variation from the original.once i have a bulk amount of seeds set away then id be much more comfortable selecting down each line and crossing and whatnot.

Since you are doing skunk outside maybe keep one indica female out there.

Since you are doing purest indica inside keep a skunk in there.

And you will have some new stuff to play with…or isolate pollination on a branch.
I considered crossing the two,my thinking is the right purest indica will bring back out alot of the smelliness that skunk originally had.I think ultimately however i wanna wait to cross stuff until i have a bulk amount of seeds for both strains(shouldnt be too super long)

…or isolate pollination on a branch.

I can't presume to offer advice since I don't smart this sort of thing real well, but I was going to offer a comment suggesting this as an alternative to going full ham on anything. A branch here, branch there, and I'm guessing you could probably have the best of both worlds...lots of nice bud and plenty of seeds to make some breathing space when you're weighing options later. This is what I'm going to do this summer. Well it's what I'm telling myself I'm going to do.

The skunk is known to have some intersex traits.. do a web search and look at other forums for info.
Just thought it's worth mentioning so you know.
I ran the Purest Indica and it's fire. Super frosty. And yes I think it's quite alot like skunk terps. Not Roadkill, not skunk 1, but in the same realm as those...
I've got the Haze on my mind. As soon as my order of New Caldonia comes in (taking forever) I'll pop some of those and the Haze from AG at the same time.

Yeah,im ready for some hermies.appreciate the heads up

Glad to hear purest indica is fire, thats one im pretty excited for.I think ive convinced myself to run em all for seeds this round and then get some more next round and run along side my seeds i get.

And then imma cross worthy specimens of purest indica and skunk no 1. And see what comes out best and go from there.

I have some original haze seeds in my seed fridge waiting to be popped,im considering running em next outdoor season and starting em early inside then doing light deprivation to manage the longer flower time in my climate.

Purest indica on left skunk on right, skuno had some yellowing start last sunday so i hit with light nutes(mega crop),no further yellowing to be seen. Will be split up soon(skunk outside, and purest indica split into two 2x4s for now)

Went away for weekend and was pleased to see some solid growth when i returned today!
