Cannabis cultivation has been in FATA for hundreds of years. Most of the regions agriculture has been mend to be on rainfalls of the region, farmers of such region perform barani (rain fed) farming technique. Farms are owner-managed and can range from 1-5 hector per owner, erecting rains and minimal management of drain water, has made tube wells and ground water use mandatory recently.
The majority of tribes farm regional acclimatized cannabis plants, having diverse fields across whole region due to farmers own preference and selections.
Plant morphology differs vastly in each district, and can be very stern to witness.

Tirah Valley is the hub of Diversity and the Landrace which has been selected by the tribes only for the production of hash for centuries.

That is one of the best example of Tirah Valley, when grown with full root space it displays robust structure and exceptional branching potential.
But in fields when the seeds are grown like Wheat/crowded fields, it focusses more on primary cola, vertical growth making it a best performing Hash plant with the Sea of Green method.
this plant is showing classical Khyber Sativa Structure.

I don't think we are running anything from Tirah Valley yet, and is on the list to procure in the future! Take a look at the Preservation Project Status page. It still needs to be updated, but gives an idea of what we have going on. Would love to see other varieties.

Man that is a beautiful write up. I did try to do a preservation run from seeds i got from the Landrace Exchange but they just would not cooperate.

I got 1 out of 13 to work out...but it is a female (week 2 in bloom now). Pine Tar Kush...the last one was an epic fail too (paksitan valley which was probably hindu kush)..i will never know.

I find the landrace's that i have tried from Pakistan (chitral, hindu and pine tar) have all had immense medical benefit for my gastro problems.

The medicine of the earth.

My next preservation will be pakistan chitral kush...10 X the landrace team (i am not banking on much) and 5 that were gifted to me from @Frimpong from the Pirates of the Emerald Triangle and their seeds are BANGING from what i have ran.

Can that strain grow in a 5 foot clearance with a net and a 16 inch flip ?
