The font for the letters are standardized across the full lot to font size=24. That some names appear to be smaller/larger is the result of inconsistency in the overall size of the pictures and the relative amount of space taken up by the names. Some are vertical phone pictures, others are full landscape pictures. A 24 pt. font will encompass a relatively larger percentage of the overall space of a smaller photo when compared to another. Add to this, I try to size the images in the vote thread in a way that allows for better side-by-side comparison with the understanding that considering 20+ photos is difficult in a scrolling one-by-one layout. Clicking a photo and scrolling through the slideshow should show each photo in the relative size in which they were originally uploaded. Also I think if you go by the size of the letters for the names..I got a feeling it's already been pick..lol????
You present everything in POTM perfectly. I wouldnt change a single thing. The font for the letters are standardized across the full lot to font size=24. When putting together the vote thread for each POTM, I strive to keep all variables beyond the photos themselves as consistent as possible. The name placements are even carefully chosen so as not to cross over any focal points or in anyway detract from each photo (this is why the names are not all just placed at the top/bottom right, etc.). Sometimes, the backgrounds of photos make the standard "white" font invisible and I select another neutral color that is visible without taking away from the photo itself.
I have recused from participation in any POTM so as to remove any possible optics of self-serving impropriety in my role as custodian of the POTM contest. I in no way stand to gain by injecting dishonest stewardship into the administration of the contest (I assume Schwaggy Seeds have been a prize and while they're great, they aren't that enticing to me for obvious reasons).
I write all this not to single anyone out or to give the impression that I'm offended (I'm not), but any allusion to impropriety requires me to address even the possible doubt this may cause. If there are any suggestions for layouts that could better regulate the names for each photo while optimizing the ability for comparison, I would be grateful for that input.
Thanks for reading this far, giving me an opportunity to address any doubt about the POTM layout, and for any possible suggestions offered.
