Anyone else watch this one?
I'm starting season 3 and have really enjoyed the first two. It's funny, twisted and dark.
The cast is fantastic, with Matt Berry probably the most well known of the regulars. He is Lazslo Cravensworth, a pompous, arrogant and entitled British vampire who is married to Nadja, a foul tempered and highly sexual Greek vampire. Their housemates are Nandor the Relentless, an Ottoman warrior in the Vlad the Impaler vein (
) and Colin Robinson, an energy vampire(fucking amazing concept). They are coddled and pampered by Guillermo, Nandor's familiar, who is the true star of the show.
Every character is fantastic. Laz and Nadja are hilarious as a highly sexual but extremely un-sexy couple. Nandor's cluelessness in the modern world and his delivery in his slavic accent are wonderful. Colin Robinson's story is hilariously infuriating and will having you looking for the energy vampires in your own life.
The guest stars are a who's who of cinematic vampire lore, with plenty of shout outs to Flight of the Conchords as well. The Vampiric Council has references and stars for days, and in a different episode, Mark Hamil turns in a performance for the ages.
If you like absurdist humour like the Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd, FotC, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, the Young Ones, Eagle Heart, Medical Police, you'll probably enjoy WWDitS.
