Anyone else watch this one?

I'm starting season 3 and have really enjoyed the first two. It's funny, twisted and dark.
The cast is fantastic, with Matt Berry probably the most well known of the regulars. He is Lazslo Cravensworth, a pompous, arrogant and entitled British vampire who is married to Nadja, a foul tempered and highly sexual Greek vampire. Their housemates are Nandor the Relentless, an Ottoman warrior in the Vlad the Impaler vein (;)) and Colin Robinson, an energy vampire(fucking amazing concept). They are coddled and pampered by Guillermo, Nandor's familiar, who is the true star of the show.

Every character is fantastic. Laz and Nadja are hilarious as a highly sexual but extremely un-sexy couple. Nandor's cluelessness in the modern world and his delivery in his slavic accent are wonderful. Colin Robinson's story is hilariously infuriating and will having you looking for the energy vampires in your own life.

The guest stars are a who's who of cinematic vampire lore, with plenty of shout outs to Flight of the Conchords as well. The Vampiric Council has references and stars for days, and in a different episode, Mark Hamil turns in a performance for the ages.

If you like absurdist humour like the Mighty Boosh, IT Crowd, FotC, Garth Marenghi's Darkplace, the Young Ones, Eagle Heart, Medical Police, you'll probably enjoy WWDitS.

I switch back and forth too, but Nandor and Nadja probably make me laugh most. Laszlo is hilarious too, but I've seen Matt Berry in a lot of things and the other two are new to me.
I had an older Greek couple for landlords for 20 years and the husband used to piss off his wife for entertainment(then give you a little side smirk). Nadja has the same temper and accent as the wife.

i almost posted something earlier but i think it would have been a spoiler alert instead for you. you said you are just starting S3 right?

when the show first started a few years ago, i tried watching it but kinda gave up on it. it was on FXX or FX if i remember correctly. luckily the wife told me to give it another shot.

I'm really having trouble with Kristen Schaal in this show. I find her to be a shitty actress and her Guide character is a mess of inconsistent accents and shallow characterization.

Nandor, Laslo, Nadja, Guillermo, Colin: all characters with depth and complexity. They feel like actual real, ludicrous yet consistent, people.
The Guide is just Schaal doing a shitty Bela Lugosi accent and showing the emotional range of a Scooby Doo character.

Also, I keep meaning to find a translation of Nadja's Greek dialogue. I recognize the odd word in her rants and I'm thinking the translation is probably obscene and hilarious.

have you watched any of the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia show @Amarok ? we love that one too. takes a bit to get used to the characters but very dark humor and lots of LOL moments for us. plus we both grew up near Philly

I tried a few episodes way back when it was fairly new and it didn't really appeal to me.
I have to be able to relate on some level to the characters to enjoy the show and I recall thinking they were all total dickheads.
I'm told that's part of the appeal, that they are shitty people and shitty things happen to them, and I know a lot of people really enjoy it, but it wasn't for me.

I feel the need to jam a Qtip in my eardrum just to stop listening to her. I'm glad I'm not alone
Nice to have someone that feels the same way.

I actually shut off the last episode I started because she was a main character in that one. (she and Nadja are fighting over building the nightclub). I'll get back to it, but Schaal was just too much.

I've seen this before: a sketch comic who can't do anything else.
The guys from the Kids in the Hall comedy troupe are a perfect example. There are guys like Mark McKinney(Glenn from Superstore) and Dave Foley(167 IMDB credits) who disappear into every character they play, and then there are the Bruce McCullochs, where every role is McCulloch being "funny".

McCulloch has been stuck doing low budget Canuck stuff while the talented guys have strong post-KITH careers.

Unfortunately, Schaal has loyal friends like Jemaine Clement who keep casting her in roles she shouldn't have.
