All good my friends! The kind words, encouragement, and offer to lend a hand if needed.. That's what makes this place so great. Even if misdirected. :p
Btw it took me a couple days to realize who JL2G was as well ahahaha. derp! I think we all must be smoking some mighty fine product .
Ain't a damn thing wrong with that. In fact,it's why most of us are here ?

This is an attempt at a non sterile transfer to crushed walnut shells / reptile bedding.
The mycelium was more visible and rhizomorphic before the wood chips were rinsed to remove some of the blackened and spent wood substrate.
This is kind of a last ditch effort to save this culture.
If this does not succeed, any living tissue will be removed and transferred to PBH (par boiled rice hulls), or cardboard/egg crate.

Houston..we have lift off. The Psilo Cyan mycelium is recovering and starting to colonize the walnut shell medium. (y)
I think there is also some dactylium (cobweb mold) trying to get a hold. A light misting of peroxide/water should knock it back if not kill it.

Very cool man these wood lovers intrigue me. I had a cake that had some purple looking contam growing on it. Soaked in a lil bleach water like you told me and it's still the number 1 producing cake. On the third flush and it's looking to be my best yet, pins all over. Leads me to believe I'm getting a better grip on this if the third flush is looking to out yield the two previous lol.

Update on the South England (UK) Cyan.

The walnut shell sort of stalled , so I transferred what I could salvage into a jar of Pressure cooked wood chips/chunks. I picked those up across the street when a neighbor had a tree removed and the stump ground out. Hard Maple I believe.

Slow but still rolling, I hope to revive this culture to its full glory. Next some will be transferred to PBH (rice hulls), a bag of black mulch from the farm store, and some egg crate cardboard.

Hope to possibly get fruit this fall/ winter, indoor again.

@macsnax - Yeah they are quite potent. I find them a much more desirable high. More visual at high doses (5-6 dry g is pretty epic).
If all works I will spread some prints, for those patient enough to wait and patient enough to attempt :)

This is a look into a quart jar. I love the ropey strands and hyphae. And wow. the smell mmmmm

@Deebs- stayin alive, stayin alive.. ;) This stuff is almost as old as my white platform disco shoes :p

Yeah my friend, appreciate your encouragement to continue with my own projects. Sometimes it gets boring on the long term stuff, when there is no one to share the excitement with when it progresses.

All those contributing, commenting, and just checking out the myco threads, thanks for the inspiration, likes, and new info.

Right on! It would be great to get this back in fruiting form and producing fresh spores. Double the odds, double the chances of success.

This may fit right in with your edibles on temps and other parameters. Once it's ready for the Martha.
If it works, you will be the the first I've ever seen to do it this way. Keep expanding and have a good chance of a bed outdoor as well!

I don't think it is as difficult as most people believe. It's more time consuming and requires more patience than most who try cubes consider when they begin with it indoor.

Good luck brotha!

Yes yes and yes, keep that one going buddy. I'll be a cheerleader for ya if that's the motivation needed lol. I can totally see how that gets boring, but at the same time it's not a lot of work just time. With my limited experience this far, I'm starting to find some interest in the wood lovers. I'll be get around to starting some in the next few months. Keep up the good work on that. Multiple transfers, I have no doubt you'll pull it through amigo ?.

Beast mode getting those to fruit indoors!

Question, did you experience any of the paralysis associated with wood lovers? That's my only hesitation with actually eating the woody varieties

Actually yes, I did experience some paralysis at 7.5g+ fresh but dry. I was on an SSRI and other prescribed pharma meds at the time.
I believe it (they) were limiting the experience and effects considerably.
I had some paralysis in one arm, hand and face. The beef jerky I was attempting to eat was next to impossible to open (the bag), or chew.

I considered it could be serotonin syndrome. Was hoping it was not a stroke. It lasted no more than 1/2 hour thankfully.

That was the only time I experienced anything thing like this. My friend had taken the same amount with no adverse reaction. He said he had never been that far out on mushrooms, and he is quite experienced.

Absolutely man, I'll be back around with some new stuff in the not too distant future. I'll likely be growing some newer isolations that seem pretty interesting too.

Dully noted on the paralysis lol. That doesn't sound like a good time if it lasted lol

Good to know it was a short duration. There are some real horror stories around about wood lovers completely laying people out; a lot of experience people won't touch wood lovers for that reason alone. Things that grow on poo aren't so damn aggressive lol
