❤️‍PETS❤️‍

I don't have pets, but guys at work often bring their dogs. One of the owners has a leonberger and I have absolutely fallen in love with the breed.

They are huge and kind of scary looking and they are the sweetest creatures around.
The boss' dog is massive but convinced she can fit on your lap. I've been in a vehicle with her and she sat in the back seat and put her chin on my shoulder, snuggled in. Just a complete sweetheart.

She loves to play and is very gentle unless she knows it's okay to roughhouse. Today she and I threw down. I would box her and she would chomp on my arm with enough force to almost squish a grape. I had saliva from elbow to wrist. She would growl and act like this was a serious battle while remaining super careful not to hurt me. One of the other dogs tried to join a few times and she told it very clearly to fuck off, as this human was her toy.

As a bonus, yesterday I had to go off site to a different location. As I pulled up, I saw a huge dog in front of the house and quickly recognized another leonberger. I didn't worry for a second. It met me halfway and was my new best bud by the time I got to the door. As I talked to the owner, I learned this was the mom of the boss' dog. Not quite as big but even sweeter.

I don't see ever getting a dog of my own. If I did though, I'm pretty sure it would be a leo.

i guarantee your perspective changes the moment one enters your life.
my old girl nala that i had to put down, wasnt rescued by me. She rescued me at the time and gifted me her wntire lifetime following me, enjoying work and finally in last 2/3 (majority) protecting and.playing with my heirs. Open your heart and you wont be disappointed. The right dog is waiting to enjoy your company

I always had dogs growing up.
My last one, a sweet black lab, was taken from me as a teen, It joined the neighbor's dog chasing cattle a couple times and my dad got rid of him(don't get me started🤬). The neighbors kept their dog and it kept chasing cattle. :(
I left home not long after.

Then I worked on the road for decades. Having a pet of any kind was not an option.
Eventually the concept just left my brain.

I love my crows. I love all the deer and bears and moose and birds and even the damn beavers.
I just don't want to be responsible for any of their lives.

Fair enough.
