Hello fellow growers!

I go by Dye, I’m extremely enthusiastic about growing and processing my own medicine for my wife, a few cousins and myself. Im in the beginning stage of my first planned outdoor grow. I’ve been growing indoors for about 5 consecutive years now. Lots of lessons learned. This year I feel comfortable enough to try my hand at some outdoor spots in the hopes I can get a substantial harvest compared to the QP/HP I get from the 2x2x5 grow tent I’m used to. I feel honored to be part of this forum, I’m nowhere near as skilled as a lot of the growers I see on here, but I gotta start somewhere and what better way to learn than hands on, picking the brains of some seasoned growers and breeders.

God that GIF is haunting! 😆 For sure making a thread for my outdoor run. I’ll have to check out some of the grow journals and see how to put one together

Welcome to PH! There's a bunch of experienced outdoor growers on here. If you have questions all you have to do is ask, someone will try and answer.

My biggest issues outdoors are always rabbits and slugs/snails. If you're Guerilla growing you need to keep in mind about trails to your plants, don't leave one. Also, you don't want to be toting in a bunch of water. I had a GG spot for nearly 20 years that nobody ever found but had some really close calls with dogs. So happy I don't have to do that anymore, have a few acres I can grow on now.

We'd love to see your spot and your approach if you feel like sharing.

Mine is helicopters!
One time I was out harvesting in the fall, beautiful day, calm, trees were in full color. I was taking my time just enjoying the day taking fan leaves off before chopping them down. Out of nowhere I heard a faint buzzing sound. It got a little louder, noticed it was coming from the sky, looked up to see a drone about 40' above my head. I hurried and hid under some thick brush but figured they had to of seen me. All I could think was the pigs were there and coming fast. Heart was pounding, really thought that was the end. Then all of a sudden, it darted off toward some railroad tracks. Turned out there was a tourist train going through for the fall colors and that drone sped off after the train. I hurried up and chopped every plant I had standing and got the hell out of there. I skipped a year in those spots, they had to of seen what I was doing. Talk about a rush, don't miss it one bit.

I always try and get out of sight of helis and low airplanes. I never planted big patches, so I never really worried too much about them finding my plants from the air. I'd limit plants to 8 max per spot. Most of my spots you could walk right through and never even notice them. Always tried to leave no trace I was there.
